Well, Bianca isn't the only one who can spread into an X shape. I think not all hope is lost.

I laughed way too hard at that. Like seriously, I feel dirty now...

Me too. Curse my overactive imagination.

I'm about to watch Zoolander, and mentally substitute Ben Stiller with Varric. Mila Jovovich will be Cassandra. Brace for imminent amusement.

Sooo I just woke up and caught up with the thread.

Can I just say: I love you guys and this thread is a sanctuary!

*cuddles up with a Varric pillow and goes back to her sketch of Varric in the bubble-bath goblet*

This comment from the "Holy Moley..." thread has made me happy:

Varric's voice is soothing and melodious. I've been handling most of the cinematic design duties for him, and it's like:

'God, what a stressful day.' *listens to ten minutes of Varric*

'What a beautiful, beautiful day.'

I hope he is an LI now.

This deserves repeating.
Despite my brain yelling that an X-shaped crossbow would be a waste of tensile strengh, it looks effin' awesome.

What's great is that those X-shaped devices pop out with a CHU-****** sound whenever he ****s the crossbow.

Whether this is how a crossbow would/could actually work, I don't know. Probably best reserved for one of those grognard threads where folks compare their SCA experiences on how weapons are supposed to be represented in games, I guess.

Oh so many ideas come to mind over that censored word...

HAHAHA this is exactly what I was just thinking. I went "hmm... now what did he mean by THAT?"

Varric really loves Bianca... :(

It was c o c k s the crossbow.  Like how you c o c k a gun.

Though Varric doesn't honestly strike me as the pump action type. Always figured he was kind of guy who had someone else do that for him.

I just realized I was ninja'd by about ...4-7 hours or something. That's what happens when you post before completely reading through all the new posts.

And by the way, guys... Varric hasn't been confirmed as an LI, but he hasn't been confirmed to NOT be an LI, so... :o;)

I am late by 13 pages!!!

Anyways, am LOVING the voice, Bianca (X-shaped crossbow? WOW!) and the groinshot.

Honestly, I won't mind romancing Isabela, but I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really wanna romance Varric. Mostly just because. ^_^ and the chest hair. and the voice. and the... nevermind.

If Varric is confirmed to be an LI, I shall be squeeing for years to come.
(and you know what happens if it's confirmed he isn't :crying:)

Speaking of squeeing, looks like the fight motions of rogues (mostly dual-wielding) would be incredibly awesome. I felt so bubbly inside everytime I saw Isabela kill something (it was the movement not Isabela btw).

And now I have a proper excuse to bring Varric along with me (LI or Not) throughout the game because my PC is almost always a DW rogue. Before this, I brought Zevran/Sigrun EVERYWHERE despite my PC already being the DW rogue there. My trips mostly consisted of rogues (2 DW 1 ranged) and a mage.

Yay for ranged Varric! Woot!

I think my party will mostly be: Varric, Isabela, Bethany, and a rogue femHawke. It's going to be pretty awesome and the banter will be amazing.

Another female companion introduced, and, by extension, another victim of Varric's womanizing ways (and when I say "victim" I mean it in the nicest way possible).

Lady Hawke, Bethany, Flemeth, Mama Hawke, Aveline and the fans (and Cassandra) - ALL TOGETHER: "Come aboard the Varric love-train Isabela!!!"

I know that I need at least one dwarf in the party at my first playthrough (why I started by struggling through Orzammar with a poorly built and equipped party on hard during my first playthrough. That made the rest of the game seem like a cakewalk).

Otherwise, I'll probably bring along a warrior, and then a warrior or rogue (or other, like Shale) extra. Though that may change depending on personalities, I had no rogues with me during my first playthrough for the most part *hugs Sten, Shale and Oghren*.

I love how the Varric lovetrain keeps growing. Like a giant snowball.

A giant snowball made of chest hair. And did Cassandra get confirmed as a companion? I missed it if so, but I really like her and I'd love to have her in my party.

On most of my Origin playthroughs I always had at least one warrior and one mage. I think 3 rogues is doable if they are all specced a bit differently and hopefully your DPS is enough to wipe most enemies without the need for a tank. Hopefully Bethany can be set up to do a bit of crowd-control (I'm a big fan of entropy from Origins) so the rogues won't get overwhelmed. I'm sure there will be parts where we won't get much choice in our party set-up and we've already been told that all companions won't be available all the time over the 10 year period but I think, in general, 3 rogues and a mage should be ok (or 3 rogues and a warrior hmm..depends if mages are just as OP as they were in Origins).

Considering the logical conclussion from the little tidbits of information we have, I'd say Cass as a companion is very unlikely. Why would she need to interrogate a close companion of Hawke if she was already close enough to him to be his travel companion?

I didn't think so, but I think I remember people talking about a new female companion being introduced and I wondered what they meant. I guess they meant Isabela even though from the Destiny trailer makeout it was pretty clear she was going to be a companion LI.

I still think it's possible for Cass to be a late addition to your party, though. Like Loghain. I have a feeling that most of the game is in flashbacks but the story catches up to the "present" at some point and goes on from there.

She might be present at the end, similar to Loghain maybe? If the narrative ever catches up with the present.
