Besides isn't it plain funnier to scam and outwit a dwarf than try to compete with one ;s

Well, she seems way too pragmatic for the pride thing. I mean if you try to step on her ambition about the Blight etc she plainly admits something to the effect she really doesn't care what people think of her, her personal well-being gets the top priority.

But isn't drinking with Varric fun? 8D
You have many good points, but I'm just being ridiculous to keep the thread alive~

Edit: eh might as well post the blurb here for the lazy.
Blurb!:
The Felicisima Armada is not without its female captains, and among
them Isabela is among the most notorious. Once captain of the "Siren's
Call", shortly after the Blight ended her ship was caught in a storm in
the Waking Sea. It was destroyed, and Isabela washed ashore at the
Wounded Coast, feeling lucky to have escaped with her life.
Now she's stranded in the Free Marches, spending most of her time in
the Hanged Man tavern while she attempts to find another ship to
command so she can rejoin the Armada. Those who speak to her in the
tavern will likely get a story of her adventures in Rivain when she was
very young, or the years she spent as a sailor in Antiva, or even the
time she spent masquerading as a priestess aboard an Imperial
freighter... how many of these tales are true is anyone's guess, and
Isabela's laughing smirk tells them that she doesn't care what they
think. She's a pirate and will one day be again, and all someone really
needs to know is that when Isabela's dagger is at their throat they can
let her do all the talking.

Hawke: Can we... get a little privacy, maybe?
Isabela: Oh, it's just Varric. He's hardly paying attention. Right, buddy?
Varric: Did you say something?
Isabela: See? All the privacy we need.
Hawke: But... I wanted to talk about... you know.
Varric: Go on. I'm not listening.
Isabela: You heard the dwarf. So what did you want to talk about?
Hawke: ;~;

So hey, I just posted this in the Isabela thread, but Isabela has a blurb page on the DA2 site now and it mentions a tavern called the Hanged Man. Could this be where Varric hangs out too?

So it seems we'd be meeting Isabela after the Blight? When would Varric come into the game? If we get Varric pre-Blight in the timeline, would they have time to meet each other before that? Then again, Varric could come in later too. BLARGH WHERE IS THE GAME GIMME SKJALDSA:DSLKFJ
