That's true.  Hale just overacts in ME2 in general, it's just most jarring in the Jacob romance.

I hope and pray to the Bioware gods that none of Hawke's love scenes will be that weird. I'd rather have the Origins love scenes than Mass Effectified love scenes. Seriously.



Although there is a modded love scene for Alistair's first time that I thought was very sweet and much more fitting for the game.

I've mentioned this before, but aside from the many complaints about the DA:O love scenes, the one I always felt didn't get mentioned enough was that the music was so "OMG LOVE SCENE" that it broke the fourth wall.



Music that is too "on point" is jarring. I maintain that part of the reason the Mass Effect 1's scenes worked so well is that the music during them only glanced on the concept of the scene being emotional and touching. It's the same music they use when Ash/Kaiden die on Virmire. It glanced off the idea of the scene while still providing an emotional context for it.



DA:O's music? Cheesy.

I actually liked the ME romance scenes for male Shepard. Except Tali. That was just freakin' creepy.

Hmmm, I have to ask. Is Varric the dwarf in DA2 the same as Varick the dwarf from DA:O? I know the name isn't spelled the same and they look nothing alike, but considering what was done to Isabela I feel it's a legitimate question.

I think the devs have said that they're not the same, and that Varric has never been to Orzammar.

You liked doing it in the engine room? Kinky.

I'm actually hoping the whole "NPCs have houses or something where they hang out" will improve the whole "cheesy love scenes" issue.

I fail to see how doing it with Morrigan is awkward until she talks about the legends of Garahel. Then she ruins the mood like you could by mentioning love.

Who says we can't take off companions' outfits? I haven't heard the podcast yet, but from the screenshot I saw it seems like companions have a slot for full-body outfits that probably works like Hawke's individual slots. So, I suppose some people might maybe possibly perhaps take off Varric's tunic to, uh, gain a high chance of paralysis (friendly fire likely).



Also, Cassandra would be Varric's Kiff.

Ah-ha. Hmm, I hadn't thought about the possibility of removing the follower's outfit, just changing them. I wonder if the outfits can be removed. I guess if you could remove them in Mass Effect, then you can remove them in DA2? (I say that because apparently it's the same deal for Mass Effect)
