If such leaps are being made to represent Varric's taste in women while he's exaggerating, I wonder what else is changed. Perhaps Flemeth is not actually a be-feathered and coiffed, uh, goddess, as some threads would make her out to be.

Unless I have forgotten something else that has been said, I still think that Varric's exaggeration may be a one-time thing.

It could take away the focus from the story, and put it on story-telling itself, if exaggerations become common.

Mike Laidlaw implied that Varric might never stop exaggerating certain things.  An unreliable narrator can explain a lot.  It means, essentially, that you don't really have to believe what you're seeing at any point of the story he's telling.

It wouldn't make sense, though, if Cassandra had Bethany's build.  Unless the whole narrative is Varric telling a story about Varric telling Cassandra a story.  Then it would.

Meanwhile Isabela is listening in on the story from... somewhere... hearing about fine bosoms and curvaceous posteriors and going "oh? Tell me more!"

Anywhoooo, with the introduction of unique talent trees for companions, Isabela's being "swashbuckler", what do you think Varric's talent tree will be like?

Not a clue. I'm clinging to my idea that one of his main interests is self-preservation. He is, after all, the Keeper of the Legend of Bethany's Breasts. So I would vote for whatever talents get him as far from pointy things as possible, or help him run away from pointy things. Not in a cowardly way, of course, he's not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways. I suspect he has other motives than slaying beasties with Hawke, which require that he lives. In this, "Look I'm here, part of the team etc but I really just want X or Y"

Argh, I completely forgot about the wench summoning abilities.  I don't know how useful it'd be in combat though.

Hawke:  "Varric!  I need some help over here!"

Varric:  "Helps on the way!" *summons wench*

Wench:  "What can I getcha to quench yah thirgjdjkgadjvbhsabgbvj,,," *gurgle*
*arrow stuck in wenches throat*

Varric:  "Dang... I wanted an ale"

Hawke:  Where's my help?  I'm getting tired swinging my 75Lb sword around!"

Varric:  "Hold on... darn these blasted cooldown timers..."
