Perhaps they took the popularity of the whiter teeth mods as a hint.

And agreeing on Cass' voice and the gloriousity of Varric's Steeple Fingers ability.

Yeah i must say they bug me now, just like the original white teeth mod did. Just really not into this artificial aesthetics in rl so getting the same meh reaction in games Posted Image

I get that, but I feel the exact opposite. I find scuzzy teeth really distracting personally.

But I realize I'm a Californian with a dentist parent so there's that. Your mileage may vary. ;)

Ugh I can't stand bad teeth in games.  Nothing short of perfection will do for me.

Yeah but i don't mean scuzzy, just clean, natural colour would be fine. Think if someone finds that dirty then it's like... dunno, like these people who call normal women "fat" because they aren't as thin as cover models. Posted Image

Supposedly people of the Medieval era had decent teeth - in terms of color/staining, remember this is before Coca Cola, tea (in the West), coffee (in the Old World), etc - but didn't have the equivalent of floss, so their gums were in pretty bad shape.

The more you know.

Natural color is fine but what was in Origins was definitely NOT natural. Maybe if they were rocking George Washington wooden dentures.

Oh yes, can definitely agree about the default DAO colour. Just not sure why they'd want to go from one extreme into the other, but then it seems to be par for the course... oh well. At least with Varric i can handwave it as him just being _this_ superior.

Varric's second special ability is Steeple Fingers, and it's glorious.

Nah, that's Cassandra's inspiration. Same iris size and hair colour...

Smaller chin, though.

I love this thread *~* welcome de-lurked lurkers!

/watches varric footage. How delightfully smirky!

Hm... after examining his steepled fingers... his shirt might be long sleeved? Bah. D:< Still drawing it short sleeved. Forearms are fun to draw dammit.

Using my see-through-bloom-and-blur powers to take down what Varric and Cass say in the Igromir 2010 cam footage:

V: And you need the one person who could help you put it back together.

C: The champion was at the heart of it when it all began. If you can't point me to him, tell me everything you know.

V: You aren't worried I'll just make it up as I go?

C: Will you?

Hmmm so Varric and Hawke are separated at some point for some reason, it seems.

I'm dying to know what Varric's answer to "Will you?" is.

The scene cuts out at that point, methinks. He doesn't answer.

Yeah that's the reason I would guess Varric has something up his sleeves besides being Hawke's designated ranged DPS. If Varric is the only party member Cass could find... I wouldn't go so far as to say the rest of them are dead or something, but they might be somewhere else, and Varric didn't go with them. Depends on how much time passes between the end of the story and when Varric starts telling the tale. It could be that the "story" isn't done, and he eventually catches up to "now" and we play the final boss or what have you in "real time." Sorta... Neverending Story mind screwiness.

I'd bet money that it does eventually catch up to real time.

AND I think Cass can join your party at that point.

I'm a sucker for mindscrew so if there's a scene like...

"So? What happens next?"
"We go help them out."
"What?"
"They're on their way to go slay the something or another, care to join me?"

I will love the game forever. I ADORE tricks like that.  I honestly can't see a fault in Assassin's Creed 2 if there are any to be seen because of the ending. (SHE LOOKS AT YOU. /freaks out)

With Cass though I really think she and Varric are foils of each other. I've said it before but I suspect they're just about opposites. He's older and silly because he gets how the world works, she's younger and uptight because she thinks she understands but she doesn't. Sometimes things get weird with one character or another when you separate the foils. I'm pulling this all out of my ass though.

I'm pretty sure they ARE foils. Perhaps not exactly in that way (though I think that's a pretty accurate guess, myself). But there's a reason those two personalities were paired to narrate.

Man, I'd mostly want Varric to be an LI for the inevitable "******-off-Cassandra" moment when he starts, uh, recollecting.

Argh when are they going to reveal some male LIs?? I'm dying here. I don't even care if it's Varric or not, I just want a reveal.

Well that'd have to be after he told her about it, non-exaggeratedly, and would be odd if we can end romances.
