Yeah he's not getting away from the little = cute thing, at least with this thread.

I wonder if he has trouble getting up due to his short limbs. /gigglesnort

Huh, his face looks pretty darn good in that shot. But he looks so tiny! Like a bulldog puppy. I forget who said that first but it's a good comparison.

That just makes him really adorable to me. Not that he looks like a bulldog puppy, but that he's small :3

Same! :3 I realize it's probably just because he's crouching down so much and there's the perspective (the camera appears to be tilted a little in the shot), but I don't have a problem with teeny Varric.

Hah that video is soooo cute.

Teeny Varric makes me want to pick him up and squeeeze him, but I'm pretty sure I said that before >_>

It's probably not helping that his shirt and jacket are so long, either. It makes his torso look even longer in a blurry shot like that.

Quick, someone get Varric a stylist. Everyone knows long shirts make your legs look stubby.

Ooown <3 @Video

And it's not Varric's fault.

He's just a sexy dwarf

Don't judge a book by it's cover, people. He's not much of a warrior by the light of the day, but at night he's a hell of a rogue =P

...I'll stop now ._.

And the colors really pull it all together. Plus, he knows how to accessorize. Just look at that crossbow.

@Dhiro - We're not judging. We love him just as much as everyone else in this thread. :)

It was just a obscure reference to Rocky Horror Picture Show

Accentuating his shortness might be ironically deliberate. He OWNS his shortness.

I like his outfit quite a lot, it's just not doing much to counteract the stubbyness. Which yeah, might be intentional, I dunno.

I wonder what he looks like when he's not crouching down like that. Because he really looks like he has leetle bulldog legs.

I wonder if that isn't actually crouching but something they did with dwarf proportions -- say, moving from the DAO style where they were mostly human to the more common fantasy image of dwarves having relatively short legs. That "DA2 races" concept drawing actually hinted at it a while ago.

Which would make the whole "we're trying to make DA2 distinctive and not looking like LotR" ironic and all, but, well. That alone doesn't exclude the possibility. Posted Image

I liked the outfit, too. I even liked Isafei-- I mean, Isabela's. She could use some pants, but anyway.

So you're saying they might look like actual humans with dwarfism, proportion wise? Maybe.

Yeah, have a look at the concept for a reminder, it seems to apply to male dwarf there: http://dragonage.wik...e:Da2_races.jpg

Not a fan if that's the case but well, can't do anything about that.

Hm... they still look dwarf-ish to me. But I'm not really smart, so I'm probably missing the point @_@

I'm pretty sure it's just the drawing giving that impression. If the female dwarf has appropriately long legs, the male dwarf will too.

That picture is funny. It looks like one person did everything and then somebody else came in and redrew the Human female head. Cannot unsee XD

Compare where the waist is on the male dwarf, and the female dwarf. The male has much shorter legs, to the point where his crotch is roughly at level of knees of female dwarf

In comparison if you put male and female dwarf from DAO next to each other, then their waists would be on quite more equal level -- the male's crotch would be about on level with female's upper thigh.

Legs on the female are distinctly longer. The male's torso is distinctly longer, specifically in the belly button region.

I wouldn't go so far to say that his crotch is at the level of her knees. It's more like mid-thigh.

Yeah I'd prefer it if they had less torso and a little more leg but eh.

That will probably depend a little on exact definition -- i was using the bottom of pant seam for guideline and took account for stuff that'd be hanging if he well, let it out loose Posted Image

(cue speculations on dwarf package measurements)
