It might be irony. That's Cailan and Lady Aeducan as kids. Maric is the old blonde dude.

It's about shoulder-length on The Stolen Throne cover but he was a lot younger then. Longer hair just made him even MORE awesome in my head though.

Mmmmrrr. He's a DWARF. Of course he's got belly hair. And arm hair. And leg hair. And very probably back hair, too. But it's Varric's hair, which means every follicle is ensconced in charm and rougishness.

Also, yeap, the kids are Cailan and Lady Aeducan with their respective parents watching them...Cailan mentioned to the Dwarven Wardens he was in Orzammar once for a grand proving during their first meeting in Ostagar, so drew this relating to that. The action figures are a touch of irony, considering what happen years later
