Tiax, your avatar is cool. Just saying. Sometimes we agree and sometimes we don't but at the end of the day your avatar's smugness generally wins.
It looks like the face one would make when checking up on the Varric thread, as Tiax does.

I originally made this picture as a replacement portrait for Xzar the mad wizard in Baldur's Gate one but decided it was awesome and had to put it up here.

I thought, "I'll just read everything before bumping that page and dropping a comment..."
And voila! Page 302...
I am so late...
Anyways, this article on unconventional videogame romance was just published... (I'm KathTeaChin btw) XP
I believe the editor has jumped on the Varric bandwagon after I e-mailed the draft to her!

After all, even in real life, rejecting someone because of their race or even height is just plain bigotry!
I don't think equating sexual attraction with prejudicial intolerance is a defensible position. Tolerance does not demand preference.
Put another way, it is perfectly reasonable for someone to not be attracted to people of a particular ethnicity, or height - or in the case of Mass Effect or Dragon Age, species - as long as they do not deny that right to others or presuppose that such preferences are based on anything resembling objective truth.
I only point this out because the concept of bigotry needs to remain consistent, it represents the worst aspect of humanity, and making the definition too broad or applying it too loosely is careless.
Normally, even I am well aware of how pedantic my nitpicking can get. To me, this is different.
/steps off soapbox
//oh and yes, calling a romance gross is bad, too.

You make a compelling argument, as usual, Mr. Shorts.
I'm still on the fence on what call to make about whether he'll be an LI. The ambiguity is fun enough but I want to make a call so I could potentially be right, because CALLED IT is oh so satisfying.

If there was a measurement for Squee like the Richter scale for earthquakes, I am pretty sure if and when Varric is confirmed as a LI the boards will set a record for it.
