Not entirely happy with my Brosca *grumble* but why not!

Methinks your Brosca could do with a smile.

*sends my Brosca over to give him a hug*

Sadly my Brosca suffers from Xboxitis, and is thus incapable of showing emotion. That said if anything could cause a smile to break through despite his unfortunate malady it would be a hug from Thyra Brosca. ;)

Also, BEHOLD!! I too, have a dwarf Brosca avatar.

Tattoo too light for my taste XP (edit: because my Brosca babe wears it proudly! I wish I could show you guys but my PC cannot support DAO T_T or even Tales of Monkey Island... I played DAO on someone else's PC)

And Varric MUST be an LI. MUST.

I squeed, just a bit. I love Monkey Island. Love it. I haven't played the new one yet though, is it good?

I watched my sis (who's outta town) play it from start to finish, haven't actually got to play it myself (see why above; hint: my PC SUCKS)

But it's incredibly hilarious and undoubtedly beats Escape hands down (first one I played, I liked it at the time but less replayability than the earlier ones which I discovered later on).

LOADS and LOADS of shoutouts to the old games and of course, Murray is back.

Overall, EXCITING. So once my sis dumps her laptop upon me, I shall play it again and again XD Not to mention DAO, and hopefully DA2 too...

On-topic: WHY ARE THERE PEOPLE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IN VARRIC??? WHY???????????????

Trivia, there are three kinds of people in this crazy fan world.
Those who believe in the Maker.
Those who believe in Nutella.
And those, those blessed few, who believe in the power of the Prophet Varric, He Who Shall Be Hairy.
Sometimes, these threads cross, and the Varric Honouree's mix with Nutella fanatics and magic happens...
But some, some are resolute and shall never be touched in socially (un)acceptable places by the Lord of Chesthair and wenches.
It's sad, but true. We can only hope that one day, they see the guiding light of our Nair-fuelled torches and flock to the group to worship his might:innocent:

Alas, the political instability of the dwarves will make your conquest short lived.

Which somehow reminds me, while I was playing through the Dwarf Commoner origin tonight (I just had to hear Leske's lines again), one of the merchants in Orzammar said something that I found vaguely interesting. He was going on about the benefits to being a surface dwarf, how there was no caste and how every dwarf looks out for one another, blah blah blah and he mentioned that dwarves can be legally married by the human Chantry. That kind of made me go "Uh, what? Why would a dwarf need/want to be married to another dwarf by the Chantry? Is he talking about human-dwarf marriage?" I don't know why but it stood out to me.

It's basically saying dusters have no rights for anything and since they are persona non grata can't even marry. But a surface dwarf, although being a duster technically due to the caste system, *can* as the Chantry allows it.

But I thought the Chantry was a good for nothing, evil organization with no respect for life that should be blown up at all costs!

Sorry, wrong thread for that one... I get twitchy sometimes.

I just figured the Chantry wouldn't be keen on marry people who didn't worship the Maker. At least, I don't think they'd be really thrilled about marrying a Dalish to an Andrastian or two Dalish or two dwarves or a dwarf to an Andrastian or.. well. I just figured they weren't really tolerant of other religions, or non-religion in the case of dwarves.

lots of people get married in churches but aren't Christians, I guess. Could be the same theory.

...actually, I wonder what religious beliefs Varric has? Will be shocked if he's an Andrastian.

Varric strikes me as one of these people who follow their religion in their own way. Something like "O.K, I believe in Adraste, but the Chantry can go burn in hell, motherf*****s!"

Ahem.

That's possible. I do wonder if the surface dwarves are more likely to become Andrastians than their Orzammar counterparts. Supposedly they lose their "stone-sense" over time so maybe they feel less connected to their ancestors.

Oooh :ph34r:d by Aimo art. Hooray!

It's a little weird how well Han Solo's lines fit Varric.

Aimo that is both amazing and terrifying. It could lead to a Twilight-class division in the Dwarf-fan community. >.>

(Totally team Aeducan if it comes to that).

Though I hope Leske and Varric don't talk at the same time, everyone's ears would explode from the sheer amounts of AWESOME.
