I don't realy see white hair as = older ever since I saw Howl's Moving Castle (at the least). It's one good example of a youthful character with white hair who doesn't look old at all. It was thinking about that which ended up giving my Fable 3 character white hair in fact, although that was partly due to it being impossible to get blonde grr.

In Cassandra's case I see it more as a carefully bred family trait than a sign of age.
Blonde Varric ftw

@Dave - what about Cassandra's hair? She got older and Varric younger...
Varric sucked the life out of poor Cassie. The games starts with grey-haired, fat Varric. Cassandra has long, black hair. Every time skip shows a slight difference. By the end, Varric has blonde hair and is the most amazing thing in Thedas, while Cass has short white hair and bags under her eyes.
Meanwhile, Varric starts DA2 as young and blonde (in Hawke's time) a gradually gets older. So he begins and ends the game young.
He's like Reaver.

Varric's chest hair is like an extreme version of a carebear stare.
Your art is glorious, Aimo. As glorious as... as... uh.... chest hair.

Hey guys, just an interesting update: the official DA2 site has a page for Varric now, complete with 2 new screenshots. Don't know if anyone has seen this yet, so I thought I'd post it...
I'd post them up here, but I'm a n00by n00b and I don't know how to embed pictures... But there's a neat closeup of his face and Bianca, and another shot of him killing a dwarf(?) with explosions(??).
His character description is as follows:
"I know everyone in this city. Well, everyone worth knowing."
Words are his trade, exaggeration his specialty—Varric can make or break a legend without lifting a finger. Born into a merchant guild, Varric never knew a dwarven homeland, and has never worked the Stone. He prefers a warm tavern fire, a mug that never empties, a willing audience, and an unwilling subject. He can spin a grand story of Ancestors and Paragons—or anything you like—but it’s not out of reverence. Truth is just another commodity. History is written by the victors, but it can also be written by Varric, who then decides the victors. If you want profit, look to his brother, Bartrand, a scoundrel with a true head for business. But if you want to be remembered, Varric is your man.

Haha Varric sounds simply awesome. He just tells stories out of his ass and people (whenever licking his boots or actually wanting to be friends/partners) keep buying him beer and whatnot. =)

My, he looks good on the screen shots. Sleek and elegant. And those clothes are amazing!
There. I admitted it. After 2 whole threads with 300 pages each.

Yeah pretty much! I want Varric in my party forever.
Bianca is beeeeeautiful! You can see her bayonet and everything. I wonder if it's her making the guy explode in blue fire. Maybe some sort of special shot with a bomb attached? What the heck IS that guy anyway? A dwarf? A genlock? His face looks all messed up for a dwarf but I didn't think there were darkspawn in Kirkwall.

Awesome, new Varric info!

Varric: 'Say hello to my little friend..."
Bianca: Little friend?
Varric: "...named Bianca. Bianca, you know what I meant."
Bianca: I am notlittle!
Varric: "But it was a good line."
Bianca: sure Varric, a good line at my expense...
Varric: *click**click* "What the... Bianca, did you just jam on me on purpose?"
Bianca: yes
Varric: "I'm sorry Bianca, I'll make you feel better." *kiss*
Bianca: thank you
*BOOM! Groinshot!*

I may be misremembering but bows like the crossbow didn't have strings in DA:O. It looks like in DA2 the crossbow (or well at least Bianca) has strings.
Also yeah, Bianca is awesome. I can't wait till I see how he uses that bayonet.

Yeah and his coattails are different I think? They've got those 18th-century military little pinback things.

They look like they've been pinned back. Looks much better this way actually, graphically, and it makes him look a smidgen taller since you can see more of his little dwarf legs.
