I was noticing that on Varric's official character page, it says he's our guide. Maybe that's how we meet him, because we need someone to guide us to the Dalish clan of elves so that Flemeth's mystery package can be delivered.

Either that or Varric took on a job as a tour guide in Kirkwall for a little extra... drinking money.  Or Wench tip money.

Anything Varric-specific will blow our minds. Gah you tease John! Just going by the one cinematic with Varric in it we've seen so far we have a lot to get excited about. Glad to hear they are letting you unleash your field of view bag of tricks too, they can be very effective.

Here's my rendition of the scene just before Hawke has to talk to Varric for the first time. She's in the bottom corner there debating with Bethany, seemingly unimpressed by our dashing Varric. Isabela is at the bar in the upper corner, oblivious to everything else. Varric is polishing Bianca and waiting for the bar wench to pour him a drink.

Also, I am having a hard time getting a good angle with the camera on this so in the future I'll try to do do sketches/drawings on smaller (scanner-sized) paper.

I think you should include the lines, "One of us." and "Not one of us."   Tha will get some extra squee-age out of the Varric fans.

I think it would be awesome if Varric referenced the moon, in some way. Something like, "We'll follow these halla tracks by the moon's light, that should help us to catch up to the Dalish clan while they're camped for the evening." Or, "The moon is bright this evening." Or even "Get yer big fat moon outta my way, you sneaky wench-thief!" ...Not to be conceited, or anything, just maybe as a small nod for guessing Varric's VA before it was ever announced.

You know, it is Thursday in some parts of the world??? I hope the high point of my week isn't Varric art free (yes, I have no life...and no computer skills....and no artistic skills...and no, hey, what are those damn kids doing on the lawn again?!?! Im going to get my hose to spray them away!)

B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-But where's Carver? D: I know, he's the wench, right? Silly Carver dressing like a sweet tranvestite from trassexual, transylvania. It's so lovely, and Bianca looks like she's having fun (or gonna kill the wench with the power of her awesomness)

Thanks for the compliments, I wish I could get a better shot of the picture and in the future I'm going to experiment more with colour blending since I am limited to 24 Prismacolors at the moment. Varric is my muse, for reals.



As for Carver, he is featured in one of my sketches in my fanart album, I'll try to stick him in the next DVT.



And John Epler is the pinnacle of tease.
