Confirmation would be nice.  If not, can you at least drop a hint as to what the male LI might be?  If you let us know either way, I'll save you a piece of the pumpkin cheesecake I'm making for Thanksgiving.  Trust me , it's darn good.

I still think that even if he is, a more conventional looking male LI would be revealed first. I think the vast majority would be confused/overreact/barf if the first male LI was of the short and hairy variety, which we can agree is hardly everyone's cup of tea.

It would still be nice to see something male in the lineup. So far, the only males we've seen are Varric and Hawke's brother. Mind you Varric is man enough for the entire game, but a little added variety would be appreciated.

We have seen four (five?) possible companions till now: Hawke's siblings, Isabela, Varric, and Aveline (assuming she is not some tutorial-only character, which wouldn't be surprising). I doubt we'll see more until next year, but seeing the receivement Varric had in the fandom, I very much doubt an adverse reaction if he is the first male love interest introduced.

I don't think Aveline is a companion. I think she leaves after her husband is killed. I read it somewhere here on the forums, but that doesn't mean it's true.

I want to say I read somewhere on these forums that they were never officially confirmed through channels until the players had already seen for themselves.

But I wasn't on the forums at all before DA:O's launch.

Morrigan was confirmed in the 'The New ****' trailer, Leliana and Zevran in their personal trailers. Alistar... I don't remember.

It was mostly only a month or so before launch though.

The same-sex romances were never given prior to launch but a few people 'hacked' the DA:O guide website.

I remember a large number of threads proclaiming Morrigan was bisexual because she was raised in the wild and used sex to manipulate others while Leliana was straight because she was a sister of the Chantry.

I thought Leliana was straight until my second playthrough, totally missed the Marjolaine sidequest the first time around (think it was bugged due to some of Leliana's dialogue not working right).

Of course, I also thought Morrigan was a virgin for the longest time as well.

Don't feel bad. I thought she was a virgin, too, since she hardly ever left the Wilds. And then I tried playing a male character and whoah, did that opinion change when she was all, "Brrr! My tent is so cold and lonely!" *rolls eyes* Then it was all, "Well, well, well. Look at Miss Skanky-pants!" But I suppose she must have learned a trick or two from her mother, considering all the men she bedded and then ate for dinner.

Anyway, I have a request for DVT. Even though it's Thanksgiving... Because I have to work on Thanksgiving <--(Feel sorry for me and draw me a picture  )  and it would be awesome if someone would draw this for me, because I can't draw.

Male Hawke and Lady Hawke run into each other, and they think that the other is totally hot. Unable to help themselves, they start making out (Because hey! Who wouldn't make out with their opposite-sex counterpart? Especially if they were as hot as the Hawkes.) And then you hear "Ahem!!" and it's Varric looking at them either sternly or incredulously, and then he says something snarky about self-cest... It would be the awesome. Please?

Happy Thursday everyone! I have a half-done sketch that I will probably be able to work on today but not sure, not feeling 100% today. I miss the days when one could wake up to 10 new pages of the Varric thread but I guess with the beginnings of the holiday season a bit of a slow-down is to be expected.
