I guess noone is interested in the fact the lead game designer just confirmed Varric has, in fact, helped write the rules for the game itself? Yes that's correct ladies and gentlemen: Varric is in charge of not just the narration but the gameplay...

MaleDev:  "And what?  It took eighteen hours to..."
Varric:  "I tire of this whining"
MaleDev: "But I... I worked eighteen hours straight!"
Varric:  "Must I make an example of you again?"
MaleDev:  "But... no!  Not the chest hair torture!"
Varric:  *pulls out rusty tweezers*
MaleDev:  "MAKER HAVE MERCY! OW!  THE HORRENDOUS PAIN!"
Varric:  "Now back to work"

Ah Varric, always working the angles. If he knew any form of torture it would no doubt be torture involving chest hair it's true!

I have this wonderful image of Varric sitting in a throne of sorts in the Bioware office, surrounded by women with a bartender constantly topping up his drink. Meanwhile all the male Bioware developers are rushing around like headless chickens trying to fit in new Varric-friendly game mechanics.
