Do you think transfering a Dwarven Wardens story to DA 2 will have any affect on how Varric will see the Fereldens? Do you think he will comment on how a Dwarf has saved Ferelden?
Very good question! Depends obviously on how much the devs will incorporate DA events into DA2 and... how much racial pride Varric has.

Well he is a surface dwarf,so I doubt he cares much about it in general. But a dwarf Commoner defeating the Archdemon and becoming a Paragon? He must feel something for that, I meen Surface dwarves are also seen as Castless, just as your Dwarf Commoner.Wishpig wrote...

I'm expecting to see at least some repurcussions from the Orzammar decision, I expect we'll at least see some reference to the Dwarf Origins when that comes up. Really want my little Lady Aeducan to get referenced! Maybe some of the local Dwarves will have pin ups of her?

I mean the Dalish clan from the Dalish Origin is camped near Kirkwall I heard, the human mage Amell is related to Hawke from his/her mothers side, and I'm sure that the Human Noble and Elven Mage and City Elf. Origins will be mentioned in some way as well.
But yes, I think Varric or Bartand or another surface Dwarf will talk about how a Surface Dwarf like them became a great hero.

I don't think I'm going to import any of my saved games for the first playthrough of DA2. I'm curious to see what choices the Dev team picked to be their "canon".
That's an interesting idea, I might have to try that myself. Not first time through though, that has to be all my own 'canon'.

Though I agree with Apollo Starflare that I won't do it on my first playthrough, or my second.
First I will import all of my saves to see how the Origin, Gender and Choices my characters made affect the game.

Now I don't remember the source, but I recall something about the devs looking into a way to allow players to choose the "canon" at the start of the game. Meaning someway the player would be able to decide if you, say, saved the anvil, killed Loghain, ect.
May have been about mass effect 3 though...not quite sure.

I know for sure that they're doing that for Mass Effect 2 on the PS3.

Somehow I get the feeling that Bartrand will end up in a simmilair way as seen on Aimo's drawing.
And that Varric catches on, so it's time to save his ass.
But now I'm worried about what could happen in that quest, Bartrand could...Die.

And here I thought we were crazy with our 375+ thread....dare I wander in there and see what they talk about over 3200 pages?

You don't want to know what they talk about in those threads.
But if you do go, be sure to use this coconut-scented ointment when you come back here.

But Varric! Varric has class and snark and Bianca! How can anyone feel guilty for loving these things?

One of the best things about the Varric thread is that while we do tend to get carried away at times, there is always an air of culture and respectability overiding it all. Kinda like Varric himself.

We're classy fangirls and fanboys in the Varric thread. At least, we are now. There were a few frightening times when things got a bit out of hand. Thankfully, those days seem to be in the past and we can all gather and talk about Varric and wear our monocles in peace. <3Apollo Starflare wrote...

Varric... yes. classy Varric. I wonder what his reaction to fanfiction would be. Besides "oh, no, that's not how I would do it at all. And not who I would do it with either. And I've never met a... who is this, Mary Sue?"

Speaking of writers.. we could do with another Mary and Varric conversation
Varric would be flattered by fanfiction and pretend to read it to appease his fans. He's an expert storyteller after all and could totally make it look like he knows what happened in a story without having read it. He might even make it sound more exiciting than the real version.

PFFFFT
Yes
"Her brow glistened with sweat and the blood of her foes..." vs. "She was rather gassy that day and I had to stand behind her..."
