I wish I had those bizarre dreams, I get an occasional musical dream with Dragon Age though.

EDIT: Did Varric the squirrel do any tap-dancing?

I had the most horrible dream last night!
I was playing DA2, and it was a giant cartoon, Varric was some kind of squirrel and drank sugar-free grape juice, and femHawke had the worst hairstyle choices ever!:crying:

varric: i'm sure you were.....exaggerating *smirks*B)

No tap dancing, just looking at the Hawke trio through a pair of backwards bamboo binoculars, and asking himself "who are they?" while sounding like Yogi Bear *shudders*

Ehm, quik question.
Do you think we will get companion videos again, or just descriptions?
I came to the Dragon Age: Origins site for the first time when it was only a week away from being released. So I don't know if the site for DA:O had a discription first and a video later, or only the video.

And if we do get video's about companions, will you watch them?
I think I would, hell I tried to stop myself from watching the DA 2 trailers, but I end up watching them both like 5 times.

I hope we get videos! You won't imagine how completely surprised I was when I first Zevran's voice for the first time! I was expecting something...gentle and musical, but instead, I got Puss 'N Boots (which is completely fine by me.)

I love Zevran's voice! And even though we had guessed Varric's VA before the Rise to Power video, I was still surprised to hear it. I would like another video with Varric's voice-over, please! Doesn't have to reveal anything about the plot or anything, just let the dwarf talk for a bit.

I actually hate Zevran's voice with a passion, I hope we don't have any more hammy fake accents (at least, for people whom we have to speak with for more than 5 minutes).

See, I get that it sounds fake and I can see exactly why it annoys people but at the same time.. I just can't resist it.

Varric of course sounds sexier, a bit more gruff with a dash of scruffy nerfherder but still able to sound epic and smooth for stortytelling purposes.

I love Zevran's voice. Its... campy. In a good way. To me, at least. It's the way he says "w***es" that wins me over.

/off topic

It was not my intention to bring this thread off-topic.
Come on the Elves get enough love as it is, so let's show the dwarf some love.

So back on topic.
Does anyone know if Dave of Canada is still working on that Varric game?

I dreamt that Varric called me, this time. I do not remember what it was about though.

I dreamt of browsing the Varric thread (or just the forums in general). Someone hated on my Quinn fpr being human and people defended him. I don't know why but yeah. Dream forum is just as insane as real forum.

At least I have you Varric thread.

There was opera singing eventually, one of those funky Heroes of Might and Magic tunes, we may have done a duet.
I cannot recall much of it, but it seems it could beat the dream I had with my Warden singing a The Knife song to Bann Teagan in some Redcliffe get-together.

EDIT: @Neesee This topic is a safe haven even in dreamscape? Fascinating.

For some reason, I simply can't think Varric not being a bard.

I'm pretty sure your right, I mean according to his description he can:"Make and break legends without liifting a finger".
If that doesn't mean he's a bard, and a good one at that, then I don't know what is.

Way back in the beginning I said that Varric was a Bard, because of his story-telling prowess. Now we just need to figure out what that unique specialty of his is. Like Isabela is a Swashbuckler, what is Varric?

Maybe simply Storyteller?
Though that wouldn't fit with him...
Well Bards are spies and he runs a spynetwork.
Maybe master Spy? Head Bard?
I dunno....

If Varric is a spy he's the James Bond of Dwaves.

Wrong. James Bond is the Varric of humans.

If Varric is a Bard, then who trained him?

Bards are most commen in Orlais, but I don't know if they have any contracts outside if it. I mean there was Lelaina's Song, but that was mostly to show that Orlesian Bards are better the Ferelden spies or something.

But if a Bard was send to spy on/ kill Varric and/or his brother, then I guess Varric stopped her and seduced her, and she then taught him the art of being a Bard. Maybe even helped him start his spynetwork.

Varric's house seems like it could be a lot like the Corleone family, they're of the merchant caste and if you mess with them you'll probably disappear.

Varric doesn't seem to be so much a bard as he does Kirkwall's best drinking buddy, he's the guy who sits in the tavern all day, people come in, he gets close to them over a few drinks and maybe a story and then he gets the info on them and reports it to back home.

That could be how he gets in with Hawke, after all an aspiring Champion of Kirkwall is a pretty big fish in local politics, and having him on Tethas family's side could lead to more money in the long run.

Wrong.  James Bond is Varric wearing a human suit.

Or something.

Only thing wrong with this is that Hawke is a nobody when Varric is presumed to meet him.
