Last I checked the live stream wasn't even showing people playing the game, just people posing with a sword-staff. The whole ponytail thing must have come from peoples minds snapping after watching too much nothing. It isn't even really a ponytail. Cameraguy seemed much more entertaining, albeit in an evil way.

At least Varric is a character in the game!

Although now I've started wondering if he'd ever let someone braid his chest hair.

Techincally, it's a braided ponytail. And yes, it's a form of reverse disappointment methinks. I thnak the goddesses I was busy playing tennis instead waiting for nothing to happen...

And some religious Varric worshippers find that replacing Varric with ponytail is blasphemous! Be careful Freek on a Leash, Varric is watching.

I wonder if Dwarves will be neglected at all in DA2? It certainly doesn't look like we're going back to Orzammar, it's a long distance away from the Free Marches afterall, but maybe there are some Dwarf 'skyer' communities around? As awesome as Varric is I hope he doesn't make up the bulk of our Dwarven interaction.



Elf wise I'm sure we'll see some City Elves in Kirkwall, and Dalish clans could probably roam just about anywhere.

The fact I really want a female Dwarf romance is the only thing that ever makes me doubt my devotion to Varric for a second, I know that if Varric is a love interest it reduces the chances of a female Dwarf love interest to almost zero.

But still I remain loyal to Varric!

On a different note I thought of something while replying in the Hawke thread: Is anyone else surprised that they didn't have Varric narrate the trailer? I mean Bioware have made a big deal of him narrating the story itself from almost the start, yet they had Flemeth do it. Just a nod to fans of Origins? Or do you think Flemeth could narrate some portions of the game as well?

I think they put Flemeth in there to tie it back to Origins so we're not all thinking "who the hell is this guy narrating?" But she could be a narrator the same way Duncan was.



Also, separation from Varric's chest is the worst punishment. To have once known that warm hairy embrace and then be denied it....you'll repent sooner or later.

He is sculpted like a god I think you'll find. He just hides it under chest hair partly out of modesty, and partly because he doesn't want to make every other man nearby feel completely inadequate and every nearby woman (and some men) to faint from desire.
