I wonder how this thread would react if not only was he NOT an LI... but he dies in the story... thus meaning an LI with him would never be possible. I bet there would be at least one attempted suicide.

It's a bit hard for the narrator to die, I should think, when the game starts in medea res. I mean, possibly when the events "catch up" it could happen but that would be the end of the game after the story has been told.



If he's not a LI, we'll soldier on in our appreciation for his personality. There's more to the dwarf than romance potential.

I just picture a fangirl in a fetal position crying her eyes out. Then standing up, shaving her head, and glueing her hair onto her chest while looking into the mirror and muttering "now you're on me... all over me... inside me."

It would be awesome if Varric was an LI, but I'm not going to cry if he's not. I'm sure he's a great friend, though. One of the articles stated that Varric was one of Hawke's closest friends. I assume that's on the happy friendship path, not the rivalry path.



Also, the idea that Varric only buffs himself if on the rivalry path with Hawke makes me laugh. I wonder what the other compaions do?

I think people are forgetting that we're more than just an "ZOMGCHESTHAIR" group. We talk about plot points and skills relating to Varric in the game, too. We have some pretty interesting conversations that are more than just fan-girlism. But yeah, we like to have fun. Otherwise it turns into a flame war.

While I find your comment irritating, I must admit I giggled a bit at the last part.

But yeah. I wouldn't cry or be mad if he's not an LI. My enjoyment of a character is not directly related to whether I can make my character have sex with them, nor is my enjoyment of a game dependant on whether or not I get to be with one specific character <_<

Ironic considering I just suggested someone would shave their head and glue it on their chest if Varric died... and I actually got serious "we're more mature then that!" "it's not JUST about the chesthair" as answers.

I was freaking kidding. No one would be that nuts! At most some people would cry if he died.

EDIT: Holy c*** people actually took offense to that clearly ridiculous statement. Lol, maybe you guys do take it a bit to seriously.
