I was reading an article on Greywardens.com about the family dynamic by a woman who got to play the game for 5 hours. She said that one of her siblings (she didn't specify if she was playing male Hawke or female Hawke) possibly presented competetition for a love interest. My question is, which love interest? And, if people have played the game for five hours, why is no one commenting about the romance options and who is romanceable when writing their darned articles!? Did Bioware put a lockdown on writing about the romance options? I want to know if Varric is a romance, darn it.

If the love interest were bisexual, either of the siblings could do so. I... can actually see Bethany being interested in Varric. Especially at the beginning when the Hawke family has nothing and Varric is a well-established merchant.
What class was this reviewer playing? Then we'll know if it was Bethany or Carver.

Interesting. I was one of those who speculated early on that Bethany could get involved with people during the game, seeing as she was obviously unromancable herself and the game would be set over ten years. I would still welcome companions having their own romances (be they in competition with you or with some random NPC) purely because it doesn't seem unlikely that over the course of ten years they might meet someone or grow closer to a compatriot. Especially as we've been led to believe that they pretty much lead their normal lives between time jumps sometimes.
One thing is for sure, I pity the companion who tries to lure Fenris away from some of the folks in the Fenris thread. I mean if someone tried to steal Varric away from us it wouldn't be pretty, but I get the impression that if someone was competing for Fenris' attentions they would find a very dangerous opponant in Hawke.
Ok now I have imagined a worst case scenario where Bioware give Varric a romance... Just not with us. MAKE IT GO AWAY. Stupid imagination.

Why not? I wouldn't put Isabella over hitting on both of the Hawkes. She seems like the most likely to do that out of the companions now by far.
