Hope that doesn't become common knowledge. The Aveline fan club is small enough as-is. If getting her means losing Bethany, I suspect she'll end up in fewer play-throughs than Loghain did.

That is rather cruel....probably won't end up making the trade though even if it is true. Unless it allowed Bethany to be a full companion with my F!Hawke mage on the 2nd/3rd play through.

Bethany OR Carver. And I guess people would be ambivalent between Carver and Aveline. Besides, that's an old thread, so I don't know how trustworthy the information is.

If it IS true, however, I now know I'll be doing the playthroughs, one with each death.

I'm not sure. Character wise she may not appear be popular with people (yet), but so far out of the reveals, she's the only dependable tank.

I still think Carver should be a rogue. Thus, Warrior PC: Aveline dies. Rogue PC: Carver dies. Mage PC: Bethany dies.

And to keep this on-Varric. The (un-)authorized biographer skill set sounds more like a rivalry-friendly path than a specialization (like Isabela's Swashbuckler). Do you think we get one of each? That is, specialization and friendly-rivalry path? Or are those one and the same?

Varric will be my rogue-brother in all my playthroughs unless somebody more awesome shows up and I doubt that.

I hope Varric doesn't overly flirt with every NPC in the game; that would get old pretty fast.

Unless.. unless it's more like Captain Jack from Torchwood/Doctor Who. That would be bloody awesome, actually.

Imagine Varric doing the Caramelldansen XD I guess it's better than the "spectre slide" Shepard does in ME2... or the weird dance in ME1... But techno turian rox...

I believe it's in the Greywarden.com interview thingy but I'm sort of avoiding it since it sounds like it is more spoil-ish than the other previews so far. Maybe just me being paranoid but better safe than sorry. If there is any revelation about Varric's LI status then I will happily spoil myself, however..

I want other NPCs to ship among themselves... Not that I am asking for competition or anything but it would be pretty interesting to see how it would carry out! I would however get into a srs rivalry with Beth if she takes on Varric! Honestly, if they had such a thing (NPC/NPC) in ME2 i think Jacob should go with Kasumi or even Thane with Jack XP
