Oh yeah. We are wearing our old ugly shirts from our work, and our business socks.

Yes, Varric's chest hair must be touched.

You see, normally, I would agree with you. But after I saw the latest dev video "The Story," it seems to me that, for MHawke: the LIs will be, Merrill (virginal girl next door), Isabella (has been all but confirmed), and (I am really hoping) Aveline because of the brief, yet possibly suggestive dialogue between her and Hawke seen in the vid.
Therefore, if MHawke has three LI options, one being a homosexual option for FHawke, it would be only logical to think that Mystery Human Male, Varric and Fenris are the LI choices for the ladies.....which would be.......amazing.
And if not, then I will be filled with this:
-rage image-
You'll be filled with rage if every companion other than your sibling isn't romancable? And you're using the word 'logical' to describe this situation?
No. Just no.
Not everyone is romancable. Nor is it a given that Lady Hawke will get as many love interests as Beardy Hawke.

My biggest wish is that, if Varric is an LI, Lady Hawke touches the chest hair. A little. Even if it was added in at the very end as a sort of shoutout to this thread/Varric fans.

I would not be shocked to find a chest hair joke somewhere in the game. Possibly in a codex entry or an item description.
...reading the Codex just became part of the DA2 experience I am looking forward to the most.

Well, the way I see it - I doubt the seven (eight, with DLC) characters who've been revealed will be the only people in your party. Bethany/Carver, Varric, Isabela, Aveline, Fenris, "Anders," and Merrill could be the most important, true, but I just don't see them having only seven party members in a game that's spread out over ten years, when devs have said that some might not be available at any given moment.
I'm in the same boat as those thinking the six characters in the book Cass smacked Varric with will be romance options. The hinting at Aveline, Isabela, AND Merrill in the video is too much to ignore, imo. I'm probably wrong, though; it's happened before.

If you want to go with what Mark Darrah said about there being the same amount of LI's in DA2 as in DAO, you have three people.
There were four love interests in DA:O. Alister, Leliana, Morrigan, and Zevran.
Moreover, you're ignoring the possibility of non-companion romances.
Two of the opposite sex, and one of the same sex as your character.
You're assuming that male and female PCs will have the same number of total love interests and in the same ratio.
It could also be: Fenris (bi), Isabela (bi), Merril (straight), Aveline (straight). That's the same number of love interests as DA:O *total* with two for Lady Hawke and four for Beardy Hawke.

You're free to assume whatever you desire, naturally. It was more the implication that not getting six possible companion romances would fill her with rage that caused me to comment.
Speculation based on a few lines spoken in a video is fine. Being angry because your speculation turned out to be wrong is something I've seen a great deal of and I don't think it's fair.
We have one confirmed love interest: Isabela.

Also, yeah, I agree, Anarya. If not an NPC with an interesting role, then a party member in some way, shape, or form.

No, in Origins, your character could romance only three people. Or rather, be in a relationship with. I'm not counting sexual flings with Isabela or the dwarf noble hunter girls or the elf maid in the Cousland origin.
Females could romance Alistair, Leliana, and Zevran: 3 people.
Males could romance Morrigan, Leliana, and Zevran: 3 people.

As do I. I also doubt they'd give us six romancable companions.

Please show me where Mark said that in DA II, you'd have the same number of romances per gender as DA:O. If that's what he said, I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong in the matter.

I mean, having your entire party consist of young and attractive people isn't a horrible idea. It's just rather odd, especially considering the fact that the game takes place over 10 years.

Not to mention they're all on the younger side and attractive, like you mentioned.

Oh, you must be mistaken. I'm not saying that's how many will be in DA2. I'm saying that if you base the amount off of what was in DAO, there's three per gender.
I don't know where the quote is that Mark Darrah made or exactly what it was that he said, someone else had mentioned him saying that DA2 would have the same amount of romances as DAO. Which is how the three per gender thing came up.

I believe what he said was along the lines of "DA2 will have the same number of romances as Origins" but I don't remember which of the bajillion recent articles that came out of the press event contained that comment, so I don't know where to look for it.
I think it was the French interview, but I don't recall the name of the magazine specifically.
Edit: I think it was this one. Anyone speak French?
