What do we know now Thread...

VARRIC TETHRAS:
Varric is a Dwarf who was with Hawke on his travels and is a narrator [Gamestar (English translation)]
"Varric is most definitely not a king." [Mary Kirby] 08/11
"Varric was born in Kirkwall. His family was noble before they became skyers. He is, therefore, a merchant prince among the surface dwarves. And that's probably all I can tell you about him for now." [Mary Kirby] 08/11
Varric is a Rogue. [David Gaider - 02:10] 09/14
Varric is a follower. [David Gaider - 31:02] 09/15
Varric is the younger son in the Tethras family, who discreetly "maintains a spy network" for the family. Varric's older brother is the head of the family and runs the family business. Their family is part of the Dwarven Merchants Guild. [Mary Kirby] 09/17
Varric's older brother is named Bertrand. [DA2 main page] 11/11
Varric is voiced by Brian Bloom. [Mary Kirby] 10/01
Varric's crossbow goes by the name Bianca. [Mary Kirby] 11/11

Yeah, we have way more info on Varric than any other companions...^_^ So thank you Varric Thread for your resilience and poking devs :D Thanks to all the devs who dropped by the thread as well... especially Nug Queen Mary.

Goodness, page three! Hm, any suggestions for a Varric doodle? I have an evening to kill, if I don't decide to wrap up an Origins playthrough.

If I may be so bold... There is an astounding lack of Bianca-wielding Varric fanart.
A "make my day"-based caption would be most welcome.

Well, I hope you enjoy drawing her. She seems like a neat contraption, but the amount of nuts and bolts might prove disheartening. If you do tackle her, I'll se her by the morning.

Yes! Easily one of my favorite games ever. I miss Adventure games. I'm glad to see the Monkey Island series on Xbox live -- it gives me hope of seeing the genre make a comeback.

What did you think of the sequel?

My hope that the third installment will come out fluctuates wildly.

As far as I know the third Longest Journey will be coming out after The Secret World is done (one of the only MMOs that interests me). I think they are going for episodic method for it as well. What with the name Dreamfall: Chapters.

I too hope we see more adventure games coming back. There has been a resurgance it seems (especially indie games). I be curious to see what a Bioware adventure game be like. Devoting all their effort to plot, characters, puzzles, etc.

I don't think that adventure games will ever be as big as they were around Myst, but there are some nice adventure games. Amnesia, for example, was excellent.

It also apparently was a big success for the company. It has sold like 200,000 games and without a producer so they have got all the profits. Apparently it has made them financially stable enough to do some experiments with their next game.

You know, this pic is pretty indicative of the steps DA2 has taken apart from DAO.

DAO was.... brown. Aggressively brown. With some more brown slapped on. Occasionally it was broken up by some different set pieces, but for the most part, brown. DA2 is still going the brown path, but it's using more colors that really set them off against the background. Just look at the intensity of Varric's clothes, or at the different color elements in the background.

Aaaaaaaaaghhhh!  Don't tease me like that!
TLJ is one of my all-time favourites.  I have such a crush on April it's not funny Posted Image, and I've started "Dreamfall" about eight times now trying to meet up with her.  While I like Zoë well enough, and the story seems fantastic, I just can't get used to the controls.
I fight the game every step of the way just to move/look around. Posted Image
Haven't even been able to leave my neighborhood because I give-up in frustration... Posted Image
