*snip*

That caption made me chuckle. Certainly, the reason Varric doesn't use an armor is because it couldn't contain his awesomeness.

I don't think that adventure games will ever be as big as they were around Myst, but there are some nice adventure games. Amnesia, for example, was excellent.

I'll have to try it out, then. I hunger for proper Graphic Adventures since Lucas shut down the "fun clever smart games" division to further fund the "milk the Star Wars franchise games" division.

You know, this pic is pretty indicative of the steps DA2 has taken apart from DAO.

DAO was.... brown. Aggressively brown. With some more brown slapped on. Occasionally it was broken up by some different set pieces, but for the most part, brown. DA2 is still going the brown path, but it's using more colors that really set them off against the background. Just look at the intensity of Varric's clothes, or at the different color elements in the background.

Uhh... but that DAO description could be used for this particular picture word for word. "Aggressively brown with more brown slapped on and occasional set piece with different colour" Posted Image

Hey, check it out, new review from Gamereactor UK:

"I did meet a charmer named Varric though, who had some of the best dialogue I witnessed in the game; luckily he also became my first companion."

Can't bloody wait till March!

I apologize but I don't think I am able to search through four hundred pages.

But a theory suddenly came to me about if Varric is romancable or not.

So Varric is the one telling the story right? And Casa will call bull**** on him if she thinks he is lying....

So won't retelling a story about the Champion, and they saying you are her lover... be called out as bull**** ;)?

Like I picture it like this whenever you try to advance Varric with romance, you suddenly cut to them in the future with Casa insulting the dwarf and calling him out on it. Despite it may or may not really have happened.

That "reporter" also described Sten as the most boring companion of Origins. I can't take him seriously.

The irony since Sten and Varric (whom charmed the pants off the reporter) are written by the same person :P

Methinks people who don't take to Sten may have played the game pretty fast. I took my time talking to him and personally like his character development :)

If Varric oozes that much charm, how could they possibly miss the gigantic elephant in the room named "MAKE HIM A LOVE INTEREST"? (We call him Mhali for short...)

Seriously.

For real.

If they are counting on an endless supply of disappointed fangirls in this thread to provide them with enough tears to sustain them through the next year, Bioware is sorely mistaken. If I can't romance that magnificent bastard, I shall never cry again. You hear me, Gaider? Never. Again. No more tears for you! Mwa-hahahaha!!!

Aside: This post is mostly tongue-in-cheek. Mostly.

If you're a reviewer you have a pretty short time to scope all characters, and then you need to move on. It is kind of understandable (I guess he did the standard Alistair, Morrigan and rogue/dog party for the most part).

Good point. I forget that he might have just played it as a reviewer.

Ever tried "The Longest Journey" by Funcom? My favorite puzzle game. Or rather puzzle-Adventure game:P

Yes! Easily one of my favorite games ever. I miss Adventure games. I'm glad to see the Monkey Island series on Xbox live -- it gives me hope of seeing the genre make a comeback.

There might, might, yet be hope for mankind. They simply don't make games like that anymore.
Well, not saying todays games are bad, they are just of a different caliber. Though I have to say, your (Biowares) games give me the same type of vibe. In a good way:)

Okay ...

*sheepish smile*

I must admit after seeing the vid on the Dev Diary ...

*eyes Male Hawke sadly*

I think my new main man is Varric.

There I said it ....

This. So hard. :P

I really hope that in the next dev video, which I think is named "Hawke", (and will have Lady Hawke footage in it ), we will see some serious Varric suaveness.  Should be out sometime before Feb 1. :)

Hmm, re-reading the article, is anybody else a bit... alarmed that Cassandra is described as a "well-equipped torturer ". Posted Image

If she seriously needs the help of the Champion, she had better not harm a curly chest hair on Varric.

Seriously.

Hands off my dwarf! Posted Image

It raised my eyebrows alright, but for a completely different reason.

We're so low of Varric goodies these days. Except for the dev diary, we're nothing having any news. Also, he's probably not a LI and I'll be stuck with Fenris.

Excuse this Dhiro. *cries in the corner*

At "well-equipped" I thought: woot? Why would they say that about a woman- for the few split seconds it took for me to absorb the rest of that sentence. So yeah, my mind takes me to strange placesPosted Image.

@Dhiro I did think this place seemed less active than usual.

Oh. My guess was that you thought that "my dwarf' was actually "penis".

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Then again, translating that out of my thought process, you're left with, "Dear God, I hope not. I'd rather romance a heeled shoe."

It is, indeed! <3 I love Morgause.

But, yeah, I think our chances for having Varric as an LI aren't any greater or smaller than anyone else's chances at this point. I wouldn't discount the option just yet.
