We've tried to create our own version of Varric in the character creator and.. it's just not possible. You get a lot of respect for whoever made the face afterwards.

The fangirls have all done their mental gymnastics until in game Varric looks downright godly to them. A fangirl's mind is a powerful thing.

Yea I thought Atton looked pretty ugly in game (Not Atton's fault - I see what Obsidian tried to do, but the modeling wasn't perfect). In fanart though Atton looks like a genuinely dashing rogue.

Old gif is old although I had to do it. I'd be lying if I said I did a lot of work for this one, editing maybe 7-8 frames didn't take too long.

@Dave: Old gifs or not they are quite brilliant. There is something about Varric's expression that would be incredibly creepy to see lying next to you when you wake up. Plus, y'know, the fact an incredibly hawt and hair Dwarf would be in your bed, that would be creepy in itself I guess (or amazing, depending which forumite you might be... )

I thought the modeling was ugly. I didn't actually think Atton himself was ugly, because Obsidian obviously tried to make him the dashing rogue type:

Disicple was similar. His model looked ugly to me but he was intended to look like Prince Charming. But of course, everyone went for the more interesting Atton.

Oh, and Varric is a bit of a roguish character too,  it seems.

I rarely torrent things, but I broke and nabbed the incomplete restoration project.  AND ZOMG TEH CUTES.  TEH EPIC CUTES.  I didn't think it was possible for me to love Atton more than I already did.

As romance characters go, even if Atton's was incomplete, for me it breaks down into:

1) Atton

....wide gulf...

2) Next favorite LI (Garrus and Alistair are currently duking it out for this slot)

I loved Atton too. Shame KOTOR II barely had any romance content to it. It was very subtle. The restored content mod restores (haha) a bittersweet romance ending with Atton. Better than nothing, I suppose.

I'm never sure whether to forgive him or not for his non-reaction to my skanking it up in the dancer's outfit. I even kicked Mira out of my party to see if I'd get a reaction. Nope. He took a vow of chastity for the poor people of Peragus, I guess.

Nope.

Last time I checked, Varric wasn't Atton.

Although Varric should allow us to play pazaak though.. I spent hours programming a flash game version of pazaak.

There's an email in ME2 that Shepard gets after recruiting Thane. It's from "Jeirt," which was the name of a rather vocal and prolific Thane fan on the old Mass Effect 2 forums, before Mass Effect 2 was released. The Thane threads were enormous.
