How so? I've never liked Thane nor payed attention to him.

One of his fangirls username was jeirt, and after you save the salarians in the thane recruitment mission, you get an email from a salarian named jeirt who obsesses over thane in it.

How so? I've never liked Thane nor payed attention to him.

There's an email in ME2 that Shepard gets after recruiting Thane. It's from "Jeirt," which was the name of a rather vocal and prolific Thane fan on the old Mass Effect 2 forums, before Mass Effect 2 was released. The Thane threads were enormous.

I would guess, that if the devs will recognize this development of Varric fandom, they will represent it with a poster in Kirkwall. Probably something inspired by all the... creative... pictures and works of... art... displayed through this thread and the previous one.

My take on it: Varric's introduction is that he descends from the heavens on an Alligator and then he's surrounded by women. Cassandra gets pissed off at him and demands he fixes the story, he says he walked out of a bar and the women flock to him. Cassandra looks disapproving and the women (and a few guys) surround Varric as you're allowed to talk with him. If you look at each of the people flocking him, they have names involving people in the thread.

If there's any reference to the Varric Fandom on the forums in DA2, I imagine it will have something to do with chest hair clippings.
