Fan discussion of fictional characters is a fun activity, no doubt, and so - again when I was munching onion rings - I came upon the idea of flavor. Varric is quite clearly a flavor of individual that many of us find appealing, especially his charming roguish ways and his dexterous bolt twirling, needless to say his mesmerizing mane of remarkably masculine chest hair. But what are the ingredients that make up Varric? How is he prepared? I'm sure there have already been some hints and more to come, but we should have a post that keeps track of the recipe and a poster can serve as an "executive chef" of sorts in maintaining this list. In this way we can reverse engineer what kind of food Varric really is without spoiling ourselves for the meal later!
Discussion in the sense I've described can lead one to think I was only referring to a casual back and forth between interested posters on the various themes and details of Varric's character, but that is not the only way to communicate ideas. Art and artists have their own style that can truly help illuminate the kind of dwarf Varric will be. In addition to their fantastic talent they have a keen, trained eye, and can pick up on subtle hints that might reveal hidden character traits or aspects of the story that could prove fascinating. It would be especially useful if, in order to get different perspectives on similar subjects and give people ideas, we could have a sort of plan in place to really get the creative juices flowing.
Before I go on too much longer with more fascinating ideas I'd like to take a step back and simply ask the question I think would really shine a light on Varric's true character: Does he zip up his pants first and then fasten, or fasten his pants first and then zip?

Cassandra would also like to know the order by which Varric secures his pants. It's very important to... posterity.

I like that the beads or whatever on the necklace actually look three dimensional. *looks pointedly at Morrigan's flat pearls*

Cassandra: "If I see your hands so much as twitch in the direction of your trousers..."
Varric: *gives a little huff of a laugh* "You'll what? Cut them off?"
Cassandra: "Perhaps."
Varric: "And before you've seen what I can do with them. It'd be a shame, really."

The others are doing it, and it's fairly interesting in seeing them again after not seeing them for a while.

15 minutes of the game is actual gameplay.
The remaining hours is Varric mesmerizing Cassandra with his twirling abilities.

That's a good question. Varric is unique in the sense that unlike other characters it is impossible to know both where Varric is and precisely how awesome he is at the same time. So in still photos the former is fixed so we can better appreciate the latter. In motion however we see how truly difficult a problem this is, and staring too long at such GIFs in order to perceive both Varric's location and level of awesomeness could drive one to madness.

Bolt twirling with both hands could stop wars.
