Just Kelly Chambers your assistant, and she isn't a temporary companion just someone you work with. You never know, we might get flings akin to Isabela at the Pearl in DA2 at least.

RE: LI/storytelling:  Yeah ever since it was first known that Varric would be narrating the story of Hawke's life the way he is I've been saying he'd make a great LI, it could even tie into exaggerations. Plus he is guaranteed to be unkillable at least until the end of the game. However he could also just be getting told about anything he misses while travelling with Hawke by other companions, including the romantic side of it.

I believe I heard that Varric plays a role (and is returning) in DA3, so I would imagine he's unkillable in general.

Not really, you were capable of getting in a "relationship" with Kelly Chambers (NPC that told you if you had messages) if you didn't get into a romance for Mass Effect 2. Once you beat the game, the only thing that changes between a non-"relationship" and "relationship" is that Kelly could be called up to your room in a stripper outfit and dance.

EDIT: I have to say though that he is too tall and his proportion is too human-like, I suggest shrinking him (but not around his unmentionables, that part is fine the way it is XD) Otherwise bravo

Maybe. But I'd imagine that he'd think Oghren's jokes to be rather lowbrow. He might view Oghren as more of a source of mild amusement than anything else.

I pictured it a big like this. Oghren doesn't like Varric, to him he's too greasy, too slimy, too 'not-how-a-dwarf-should-be'. that is however until Varric produces a bottle of Legacy White Shear.

I struggle to see Oghren and Varric getting along. Varric seems much more classy, with good taste and wit, whereas Oghren doesn't have time for that kind of frivolous stuff.
