Edit for on-topicness: You know, I actually thought Varric wouldn't be the type to swear. Like, as a storyteller, he wouldn't need to resort to that in order to get his point across. I guess a shiny cave is enough to make any dwarf loose his cool.

I think I've figured out his belt fetish. He was so ashamed that Varric inheirted the family chest hair that he felt he had to cover up his chest to keep his pride. The only thing to hand? Belts!

Well, we know Bartrand is a Deep Roads related questgiver and he looks *just* like Varric soooo.... I think it is safe to say yes, unless the Free Marches are populated by dwarves that look like Varric. Which would lead me to wonder why it's not populated wholly by half-dwarves
