In all fairness, he is a dwarf, and dwarves tend to be on the stocky size, which might be fairly easy to confuse with overweight if you didn't know any better. Heresy, I know.
This must be rectified! Dwarven men must wear King Leonidas approved armor: smallclothes and cape.
There, six-pack!
EDIT: Spelling error.

Well they do want us to fight like a Spartan. I mean they say it enough, might as well give us the outfits to go along with it! =D

@Margaret: Xerxes was certainly tall enough to be a Qunari.

You really do, Awakening is great unless you go in expecting DA2.
I went into Awakening expecting more Dragon Age and I was disappointed, although replaying it with no expectations sort of made it better. I'm just not a fan of the new companion system or how buggy the game was.
A lot of good ideas, how it was implemented was questionable though.

I'm playing it for the first time at the moment, really enjoying it too.
On a related but more Varric-y note I found myself reading the 'Surface Dwarfs' codex entry with great interest in Awakening. I swear the merchant who could have 'sold [Genitivi] his own hat' must have been Varric. The big V sounds like someone who could sell someone just about anything, the silver tongued charmer.
I also re-read the old 'Free Marches' entry with much more interest than I did before heh. Some things in there that could potentially find their way into the game I reckon, such as the Free Marches version of the Landsmeet and the city/town filled with so many different races that it was as if 'all of Thedas was on dispaly'. While the city isn't Kirkwall, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a very multicultural setting in DA2.
@Dave: I must admit not being able to talk to folks while they chill in the Keep was a bit of a bummer.

The Freemarches Landsmeet would be interesting. It says that it only gets called in important times, and judging from the set-up of DA2, there's going to be a whole lot of chaos going down in the Marches. I just hope its not too much like Ferelden's Landsmeet - might get a bit samey.

I actually really liked the Awakening convo system (the system, rather than the amount of dialogue). I think a combination of camp-dialogues and 'in-the-field' dialogues would be the best system. I was very lucky with my first playthrough, in that I encountered 1 bug (Sigrun's personal quest, adn I didn't even know it was there so it didn't bug me much), and there were no continuity problems (simply by virtue of my Origins playthrough).

Yeah I'm liking the out in the field stuff, and the dialogue is as top notch as always (Anders amuses me), really it's just the lack of chatting at your camp that limits it. Basically just give us loads of dialogue everywhere, all the time, Bioware. :innocent:
Yeah that's what I was thinking. I think even in the entry it is described as being quite a different beast to Ferelden's due to the nature of the Free Marches (being a collection of city states, even less friendly with each other than the Bannorn), it would seem a little crazy for one not to be called if there is a Civil War on the horizon afterall.
I'm beginning to have a sneaky suspicion that Varric will have a much bigger role than 'just' that of the narrator as well. The role of narrator is more important to us than it is IU afterall, I wouldn't be surprised to see him being important for another reason as well as his eventual role as the teller of Hawke's legend.
Whatever the case it'll probably involve ample amounts of wenches and wine.
Edit: AIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *SQUEE*
Ahem, thanks for sharing. Loved it.
