Edit: @ Wishpig...Never played Jade Empire.  So the reference escapes me.

In Jade Empire, there was a little girl (one of your main companions) possesed by a benevolent demon, however, there was also an evil demon within her.

You could pretty much turn her good or evil over the course of the game.

Sorry, guys. I was hoping to get all three so everyone would be happy. Maybe he'll be in DA3 and a romance option there. I'm sure he'll still be an awesome character even without the romance option.

You know, I was a little disappointed that there was no V love (was interested in seeing Ms. Mary's take on a romance, but that's why we have Merrill), but we still have a lot of V throughout the game.

Oh well.  Maybe since he isn't a romantic interest, he'll have more cool stuff dialogue.  Rather than mushy poems,  swooning jibberish and invisible flower cutscenes.

I would say making a Varric romance mod would be one HELL of a tough task. Making one that is consitent with the quality of the other romances tougher still. CLOSE to impossible. Not quite impossible though...

If it's clearly a mod and just can't compare to the other "official" romances (which is far more likley than the alternitive)... do you really want to risk rendering your save file null and void for a shoddy makeshift romance?

The tough task isn't about the coding. With the toolset, the coding can be done. The difficult task is to make the new dialog voiced. Although it can be done by cutting the voice set word by word and paste it back, it is not an easy task. Also, another factor is, Bioware seems like hardcoded something within the code, may be they are too lazy to allow flexibility, i.e. some of the path is "fixed" and the scripters need to invest a lot of workaround in order to make some events work.

It is really sad to see Varric isn't available for romance. * sigh * Really hopes that DA2 is easier to mod so we could fulfill our own wishes.

Well, he does have a *SPY* network, so he doesn't have to do the job himself...If you insist that he must do the research himself, if he has that hedonist type relationship (hedonfist!) with Isabela, Im sure there's some locker talk going on there; with Merrill and the others, they might approach him for some relationship advice...

They might do it when they break down the forums into spoilers/non-spoilers maybe? I wasn't around before origins launched so I have no idea how they handled the fan threads back then. Or if there were even any fan threads back then! =p
