I don't see why there is problem between this. In DAO, you can play as a dwarf character and romance whoever companions you want. Why is that a problem in reverse?

And in real life, my partner is shorter than me and I don't think it is a problem. What really matter is we love each other.

I don't see why there is problem between this. In DAO, you can play as a dwarf character and romance whoever companions you want. Why is that a problem in reverse?

EDIT: Looks like many Varric fans are either on the Romance-less Ship or the Isabela Ship now... I think I'll make two FemHawkes for them. I don't feel as attracted to Isabela as I was to Sigrun though One of my Hawkes won't romance anyone just in case DA3 continues the tale of the Champion of Kirkwall.

It's a crying shame that Varric isn't going to be a love interest, I'm not going to lie. Still, if nothing else you ladies and gents have helped to show Bioware that there IS an audience for these sort of romances in their games - which should make them more open to exploring that option in future titles. It's little consolation for those of us who wanted Varric and not some other Dwarven character to fit that mold, but at least the groundwork has been set for the next game.
That said however, Varric is still going to be my Mage Hawke's best friend come hell or high water.

I really liked that Valentine card about "you and me, let's make history." Not a bad idea to suggest "Making History with Varric Tethras" or "Rewriting History: Varric Tehtras" as the new thread title. Just a mere suggestion, nothing more! I still want a place to talk about dwarf stuff when the game launches!

Well, she said she wasn't going to be able to keep up with the OP and maintaining stuff, so just to make a new thread where someone else can handle it? It's not ending the Varric train forever or anything, just moving to a new car.

The only reason I suggested it was the symbolism.  I was unaware of Trivia's position with regards to maintenance of the OP.

Yeah this. I've been contemplating this for a while now... Now seems like a better time to REVIVE like a freaking Phoenix, new OP, new stuff...

Also, namedforthemoon could be a good OP.

@shorts I actually thought of getting someone to start a "main post" instead. Didn't know it was possible to lockdown and start over... Then there was the symbolism which sounds pretty cool
