Well there is no reason we shouldn't remain open so long as we don't go on an off topic spree like in the last thread, the thread might drop down a page or two now and then in dry spells but it will always come back stronger and more hairy than before. I'm sorry to hear about their Ponytail thread but it really wasn't DA2 related, it was Ustream/Bioware related. Has anyone thought of just opening it in the off-topic area? I don't see what difference having it there would make?

@Calla: loving the drawing, you've captured everything that is good about the camp scenes in Origins with extra Varric-y goodness. I love how the white streak in his hair is all present and correct.

Dry spells... I am actually kinda new to forums and stuff, my past experience with forums is with two small ones which is quite normal to be "quiet" so to speak... Now that I'm (too) active, this is the first time I'm in a full-fledged forum... Well, it the thread becomes inactive, hopefully I would try to pay more attention to RL stuff ><"

Hehe I've not been that active around the Bioboards to be honest, mostly just prior to the releases of both ME games and DAO before this. I've been in epic threads elsewhere though, it's fun! Even if this thread did get locked for excessive bumping or something (I hope not) we can always create another one as it is on-topic. At least that's what the Tali folks seemed to do on the ME boards (until they got their uber thread).



I'm hoping we get more Varric info soon too, considering he is the one character we know of that is with us through the majority of the game and can never die (at least until he gets to Cassandra ten years later) I'm hoping it means we get info on him first.



Something else Varric-related that occured to me: Seeing all the new T-Shirts and such that Bioware have added to the shop since it's release, many of which seem to play off things in Origins that went down well with the fans, maybe we can hope for Varric merch someday?

I am actually wishing that the wide looking silhouette on the new Tee is Varric. It appears (methinks) the artist of the splashy (splatter?) dragon referred to the pirate!Varric concept art to do it...



I agree that he is very likely to be one of the earliest companions in the game...

Ohhh yeah I forgot about that. I think it's Varric too, I swear the little thing by that characters side is his map holder/sheath thing. I'm hoping for more... Varric specific stuff though. It would probably come from his dialogue and actions in game if it did happen, but who knows maybe a 'summon bartender/wench' T shirt of some kind? Or one that references chest hair. :happy:

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm trying to write a massive essay but it's hard to stay away sometimes.

That's true he did promise us some. They must be coming with the first gameplay footage I reckon. Unless they are linked to the Lady Hawke reveal... Lady Hawke + Varric for the first revealed stuff would be awesome.
