YOu know nothing of his personality yet!

I remember the video of ohgren and how so many people thought he would be some honorable drunk trying to save orzammar....turns out to be very different...

I don't see how he would make a horrible LI. I think a few things are working against him: his status as narrator and his in-game appearance. However I think his personality type is very well suited for a romance and in fact I hope they give us one with his type in the future. It'd be fun, and different from what we've had before.

Yay optimism! (I'm sorry, I still can't forget Avatar: The Abridged Series)

What you say is true, despite few things working against him, his personality (based on Mary's descriptions in thread 1.0) is suitable for romance.

Not too Oghren (sorry!) , not too Zevran (my man-**** XP in almost every playthrough).

I wouldn't say we know nothing. We just don't know a lot. Mary's given us an impression of what he's like in her various posts, and I mean she would know. She wrote him.

I guess it depends on how you define horrible, he might be an excellantly written love interest, just that he's a bit of a bastard, already has three wives in various towns and has two mobile phones, one of which you only just found out about.

They have mobile phones in Thedas??? Or Varric is just that awesome.

Anyways, for those who wanna analyze (and over-analyze) here are the devs in 1.0.

Indeed, product placement has even made it's way into DA2:

Only Varric the merchant prince can sell such things in Thedas.

But see, if they write that excellently and believably then I don't really care. That would be interesting!

I had a musical dream again, with DA people!

Once I had my femWarden do a TheKnife song in Redcliffe, then this one time I had all the female cast do Chicago's "Cell Block Tango", but the one I had now was kind of a combobreaker...

Dare I share? -.-

No, as much as that sounds more preferable to what I saw.

It was... horrible, to say the least.

Were you 2000 years old?

And why do you have that... that... thing as your avatar?

A person had stolen my usual avatar, leaving me extremely confused.

Hmm... another case of Avatar identity theft.  Don't worry, Varric will have top men looking into it.

Essentially does, I feel like a different person with this avatar on. I'm waiting for my "custom" avatar to upload but it doesn't seem to be doing so with the character creator.

I will cast Miracle in Varric's name.
The old cabbage should grant it. With these weird downtimes, I never know when to pray for my spells.
