THE FINGER STEEPLING! The SMIRK! omg. I want to actually see/hear this scene so badly.

Varric possesses an arsenal of smirks. Each more deadly than the last.

How does he decide what one to use? Is there certain requirements for each?

The visions are... overwhelming.

Oh and dare I say about my lord Varric that he looked better in the blur and motion. Not to imply there are occasions in which he doesn't look good, but still!

Varric is amazing. You can just tell from the animations, blurry as they are. He is goign to be one EPIC narrator.

Argh the teasing with the blurry pictures is evil! At this point I can't imagine a time when I will ever be bored of watching the first Varric scene of the game, I'll always think back to this time and just relish actually being able to see it in good quality.

Also: Yay for Mary posting in here again! :D

I'm guessing Varric has his own unique class which includes special abilities related to various smirks of power, summon bartender/wench (a bit like the ranger summons), a range of chest hair related powers (Chest hair of life envelops an ally healing them, Impenetrable layers causes Varric to become invulnerable to physical assault for a time, while Hairy Vengeance does unspeakable things to an enemy.) and a set of narration talents such as 'Lewd story' 'massive exaggeration' and 'this one time...'.

It's just a shame the abilities won't be available to our Hawke's, even the power of Nutella pales in comparison to Varric's unearthly delights.

AHA! I saw the finger-steepling this time. Also, props to the guy in front for picking a female rogue even though all I can see is a blurry mess.

I'm a little afraid of what using "this one time..." would be like.

I'm pretty sure something along those lines will be DA2's version of the 'Dark Ritual'. Varric's powers will be terrifying (and beautiful) to behold by the end game should you go through with it (and Varric help you if you turn him down...)

Oh and I finally got to see the footage on the ustream! :o I always knew it must be something special to behold, but even in that blurry quality with no sound the scene pretty much blew me away. The gestures, the smirks, Cassandra's intense disapproval! He seemed to look a lot more like the concept art when in motion too? The hair was a lighter shade, but matched otherwise and when the camera pulled back to show a replica of the concept art I squeed a little. ^_^

Varric is telling Cassandra about Hawke, he needs Nutella for story telling purposes to make his storytelling hit closer to home. He opens a jar of Nutella when he says "and the nutella-smelling hero walked into Kirkwall" to make the illusion of his story more realistic for Cassandra. This is one of the few times Cassandra fully believes in Varric because she just nods as she licks the Nutella off of him (due to her hunger after questioning him for a while).

My reaction to how much he looked like his concept art when in motion was something along the lines of: LSKJDFJLKSJFLKJSLDKFJLKSJFLKJLKSDJFLKJSDF.

True story.

I suppose you could... get... more... testosterone? Does that work? I just thought it was something that varied from guy to guy. Genetics and all that.
