Kai Leng and Thane have very different personalities though. It would be nice to have another Renegade squadmate too. They're a little outnumbered compared to Paragon. Even the two Cerberus squadmates wanted Shepard to destroy the Collector base.Marta Rio wrote...
Although I agree that the "badass assassin" archtype is pretty darn cool, there's already one in the squad. You know, that frog-fish-lizard guy. Unless you killed him, I guess.

I'd love to have another renegade squadmate (especially since Zaeed and Morinth would be my bets as least likely to return). But maybe not another assassin? Although...I certainly wouldn't mind an epic showdown between Kai Leng and Thane.

Edit: Well, he's really just a less moral version of Thane, so we could just keep using Thane instead!

Kai Leng! He is so badass . . . . Even if he does work for Cerberus.

except Thane is dying....still don't want Kai Leng..we can do without an assasin if Thane is unavailable...we are fighting Giant Ships...doubt u can assasinate them

Kahlee is a scientist, and we've got either Mordin or Liara for that role. Kai Leng is just another Cerberus goon that needs to be blasted out an airlock, so the role of asassin/commando can be filled by someone that's not a living insult to their race.

Hell yes I'd want Kai Leng as a squadmate. If Retribution is to be believed, he is an absolute terror on the battlefield. GIMMIE.
Not on the battlefield.Only in cutscenes...

I don't think having two assassins is such a bad thing. For the suicide mission, we had two biotics (I count Samara and Morinth as one because it's not possible to have both), three tech specialists, three team leaders...Marta Rio wrote...

This is why I keep saying "if his combat skills in-game are the same as Retribution." xD Even if they're not, I still think he'd be a great character to have along.tonnactus wrote...

The only thing is, I'd rather not have either. Khalee is awesome, but we have enough scientists on the team from both sets of squad members

I like her better.
Plus having a soldier with smarts around would be useful, given the lack of soldier class Squaddies in ME2 (I'm not counting Zaeed, since I didn't add him).
As for Kai Leng, he'd better hope we don't meet up.

I'd also make sure to reveal to Aria who exactly killed Liselle.

Both suffer from the syndrom: We may be human, but no one in the whole galaxy can mess with us. Me, Kahlee Sanders, is so smart that no one in the whole galaxy can challange me (even tough I am too stupid to deal with anything that happens in my life without having someone else to save me and pay for my mistakes). Leng on the other hand is a killer that can't even be stopped by whole fire teams? Ah, c'mon... at the same time all non humans were just pray...
Boring characters... horribly boring characters... I just hope to get a chance to kill him and leave her to die...

That being said, Kai Leng would be more preferable in ME3 as a POTENTIAL squadmate...but even he is so poorly written and such a blatant Stu. He's more tolerable to me, but just by the smallest margin.

Sanders should also be a significant NPC character since she's had such a pivotal role in the 3 novels spanning the better part of the 20+ years that it covers.
Anderson should also make an appearance but I believe the character should die at the end of ME3 in a final and heroic display of bravado. Since he's an admiral and a bit too old, having him become a team mate is pushing it a bit. He should be laid to rest and remembered as one of the alliance'
s most admired human personalities. After all, he deserves to be more than just a hard working and passed-over personality.
Udina should die a horrible death, preferably mutated as a husk - at least since so many of us cannot punch him in the face anyway.
Kay Leng did show a brief bit of humanity in the last novel, and I would want him to appear as a Cerberus agent in ME3 who at a later stage in the game will have a change of heart. Maybe Cerberus will implant him with reaper tech too and that will transform him into a final instrument for humanity?
There was a side mission in ME2 where Sheppard had to investigate the capture of a Cerberus operative. You had the choice of sending the data to the alliance or to Cerberus (or keep it). I would like that choice to either help or complicate things between Sheppard and the two parties depending on the choice made.
I would also want Cerberus to become an adversary in ME3 since they still managed to secure reaper tech after Sheppard stopped the collectors. Whether Sheppard destroyed the collector base or not, Cerberus will still locked in enough tech for them to become an adversary and perhaps even ultimately in a show of irony, offer humanity a way to actually help defeat the reapers???
While I would like the entire cast of ME2 (including Saheed and Kasumi) to be in ME3 especially if they all survived the suicide mission, but if so, something tells me that there should be hard choices to make in ME3 where only a subset of them will survive.
Having Liara as the shadow broker should also be something that helps Sheppard in ME3, perhaps even as a means to help redeem Cerberus towards the end? after all, despite all the claims of anti-alien thoughts within Cerberus, the illusive man did not abstain from many alien contacts. I would like Aria to be a significant character in ME3 as well.
The story line and character base has a great deal of potential and I cannot wait to see what the writers come up with in the end.
Cheers;
