Of all the things I could complain about when it comes to NWN2, it really is a great game. It's not ground breaking, but it does what I believe it set out to do. My only problem with the game is the clunky camera controls and the wierd movement controls.

Just a heads-up: I'm addicted to WASD control styles. For the most part, NWN2 works well with point and click unless the path is too narrow. I'm just one of the wierdies that plays with a keyboard and a mouse.

Besides the movement controls (of which I can wean myself off, should no other option appear,) I really can only complain about the camera. Is there a good camera mode for a KOTOR-like experience (close-up, ceilings visible?) Both "exploration" and "strategic" modes are good for top-down on big battles, but I also would like the character mode to work better. Is it possible to modify the camera controls, or do I just have to deal with it?

Thanks for reading, and please help if you can. I'd really like to get back into NWN2, but it's hard after playing NWN and DAO (both of which have very decent camera modes.)

Personally, I find the camera really annoying, because it's so sensitive. NWN2Wiki has some nice tips (click here) on editing the ini file, though I found I had to mess about with the settings a bit more. This actually really helps... I don't know whether it might be of some use to you.

I think you can edit camera angles relative to your character by editing certain 2DA files (game configuration files) that come with the game. I remember reading a thread about camera adjustments quite a while ago, but I don't recall the details anymore. If you're willing to roll up your sleeves and fiddle with 2DA files, you might be able to get something you like better.
