Here's an issue I've been having for a long time, but never bothered myself to find out if I could do anything for it.

Months ago I bought a new computer with windows 7. When I started playing good old baldur's gate 1 again with tutu, I noticed that the game takes a long time whenever I save a game or the loading screen says "clearin data" for loading a saved game. The game freezes for a time also when I press options or something. I have found a partial solution for data clearing wait: when I kill my PC using Ctrl-Y I can instantly load my game without a long freeze.

I thought it would be a TUTU problem, but same thing seems to happen with BG2. Sometimes rarely I'm able to play without any hinderances. I have tried running the game in compatibility mode but doesn't have any effect. If anybody by chance has any idea what is causing this annoying problem please step forward :). I would also like to know if you are able to run the game on windows 7 or Vista without any problems!

I've had the same problem since I got baldur's gate tutu for my windows vista. Sometimes it works just perfectly and sometimes when I start the game, the options and saving screens are slow as heck. The only thing that changes this seems to be restarting the whole computer.

I wish someone would come up with the reason for it.

You could try downloading the Generalised Biffing mod. The mod will biff all of your game files in your override file into easier chunks for the engine to digest ... I think. I normally use it if i'm using a lot of mods because that's when the game slows down for me (Windows 7). Maybe this mod will help you too?
Let me know how it goes.

Edit: Just realised the poster posted this thread a month ago, oh well ...

Yes, I quit checking my post weeks ago. These days it seems though that my problem is occurring rarely, and I've been continuing my game with just a few incidents. But your link does seem promising and I'll definetily try it if this starts happening again. Now I propably wouldn't know a difference though since the game has been running fine. And no, I havent installed any mods or tried anything to fix the issue, it just fixed itself..
