Hi. I just started a second playthru of ME 2, and after completing my first mission I discover I have something called the Long Service Bonus for beating the game once already. It gives 25% greater XP plus you start out with all the heavy weapons from your first playthru. I don't like this because I already think you level up too quickly and I'd much rather find the heavy weapons where you're supposed to find them.
So I delted the career of the character I played with the first time and started again. But to my surprise and consternation I found I STILL get the bonus. What do I have to do so I don't get it?
When I started my new game (the second time) the option to import ME 2 character had gone, so I assumed that would do the trick. But no. I'd already deleted all the save games from that original playthru.
Any ideas?
I don't want the Long Service Bonus

I dont know if you can avoid it honestly,...probably play on another gamertag
I wish thye would of predicted some people such as myself not actually wanting bonuses and gave us the option to decline these...Yeah its fun at first but on the 3rd/4th playthrough I dont want to start 5 levels up

Yeah I don't like it. With all the exp from DLC you max out your level way before you've finished everything. It makes things way too easy. I hate easy games.

Importing from ME1 again will ensure that you don't get any weapons ahead of schedule. But, short of playing on a whole other profile, there's no way to avoid the XP/resource bonuses.

Oh well thanks everyone. I guess I'll put up with it but maybe I'll play on my mate's profile the next time I play.
Yes, it seems obvious to me that many problems could be resolved by simply giving the gamer a choice. I don't know why so many developers have such a hard time wrapping their heads around that.

I started the other day back at import from ME and it makes you find them again.

Its linked to your gamertag, not your game saves. You actualy get alot more bonuses then you think since alot of achievments unlock small like +5% bonuses to this or that.
Your going to have to create a brand new gamertag and play with it, and afterwards if you wanan do the same your going to have to create a new gamertag again since its all linked to your tag.
I really dont see what the problem is, it is extremly rare for any game to be like the first time you played it. Mass Effect will never ever be like the first time you played it so whats the point? and the games easy enough already making it a bit easier just saves time.
