We are very proud to announce today that Mass Effect 2 will be coming to the Playstation 3 in January 2011. The PS3 edition will include the full Mass Effect 2 game and hours of bonus content.

Hopefully this will bring Mass Effect to a wider audience without compromising the speed and quality of development for X360 and PC.

Yes, PC and xbox360 users (ie members here) will surely "stay tuned in" for PS3 news. Well, it is not surprising, EA/BW want as much money as possible. Hours of bonus content - lets all hope it is exclusive for PS3 lol

Of course, the worst outcome would be if because PS3 players don't get to make ME1 choices, those decisions don't matter in ME3.

Alright, so one of the big hooks for Bioware's ME franchise has been importing and continuing "your" shepard.



They just announced Mass Effect for PS3, but ME1 is *not*, and to my knowledge, not going to be available for PS3.



So essentially PS3 players have to play the default story in ME2.



This indicates one of two things;



A. Bioware is moving away from the lure of importing save games. This option doesn't bode well for all of us who want our decisions to matter/squadmates to return. This is a strong move into the "standalone game" direction



B. They're going to find a way to get the ME1 rights in order to put it out for PS3.

That would be the most logical thing.

I'm unsure what the story with the save game import will be though. That's a big part of the trilogy. I dunno why they do this, announce the fact, but give us like zilch info other than it's coming, and when.

Horrible...total sellouts. Exclusives are what make consumers buy consoles, nice to know someone who owns a PS3 doesn't need to run out and purchase a 360 to play one of the greatest games ever.



Whats next...Halo 3 to the Nintendo Wii? lol

Mr. Priestly and the rest of Bioware, you better not cheat us out of any content. Missing out on additional armour or weapons I can handle, but missing out on missions and story is a big NO for me.

This is really bad, because appearantly ME1 will not be released on PS3. I wonder what will happen to the ME1 characters now. I can only imagine that they won't play a very big role now, because the experience has to be the same for everyone, every platform. PS3 users will never even meet Wrex for example because the "canon" has him dead. hmpf. Of course the ME1 LIs won't be availlable for PS3 users aswell.
