It's actually quite rare that you can miss 70 pages and absolutely nothing will have changed. I mean it's exactly the same things being posted over and over again, I 'm not sure if it's actually the same people or we're experiencing an exceptional case of groupthink.
Honestly guys, after Christina Norman's twitter about this having 0 impact on ME3 development (very believable, since it's obvious that this has been planned for a long time but EA/Bio have been contractually prevented from announcing it before - everything would have been accounted for long ago) and the interview with Dr. Ray which essentially confirms that PS3 players will have some, as of yet unspecified, way for affecting the outcome of the ME1 story for their game, it just seems that people either aren't informed at all, or are just trying to objectify their subjective dislike for PS3 gamers getting access to Mass Effect.
The way I see it, all of the non-critical ME1 decisions were gone through in ME2 (Conrad, some other cameos, the e-mails). The critical stuff, Rachni, Wrex, Council etc. are going to have an impact on ME3. How big is it going to be, we do not know, but it's certain that the PS3 port will not affect this.
And the 'PS3 gamers will get it free, boo hoo' people. Are you complaining about the lower price the game is available for right now? Do you not suspect that when january 2011 hits, you wouldn probably be able to get it for less on the PC and X360 sides? If getting the game a year early has no value to you, why was the Shadow Broker lair thread so full of rabid people screaming for a release it had to be locked?
I normally try to stay out of these kinds of threads, but the utter FAIL of people who call themselves fans of the game is just grating. I for one am REALLY glad some of my best friends will finally be able to get some Mass Effect!

To be brutally blunt, my Xbox 360 red-ring'd on me less than a week ago. After BIKING all the way to my local GameStop to replace the thing (trading a good chunk of my game collection in to do so, as well), I'm just happy others won't have to have their console burn out on them halfway through a Mass Effect 2 save file now that it's being released on a more reliable system, and no amount of baseless conspiracy theories or fanbratty accusations of BioWare "selling out" are going to change my mind. Hell, by all accounts it's a freaking upgrade. One disc, with DLC included in the box. When a PS3-exclusive goes multiconsole it means I have to worry about things being cut or downgraded to fit a smaller disc format, but people whining about this going to the PS3 don't even have that sort of thing to be concerned about.
Bottom line: The PS3 is more reliable and has a superior disc format. The more awesome games it gets, the closer we are to world peace. S'truth.
And if you took the above statement seriously, go sit in a corner and think about the state of your sense of humor.

I'd be surprised by how many ways people can find to whine about something for no reason, Funker, but hanging around the Sonic fanbase for so long must have desensitized me or something.

Unless you bought your 360 in 05/06, it is covered under MS's warante of 3 years. You could have also sent it to them outside that 3 years. You didn't "have" to trade anything in, you chose to do so. All consoles have had issues, even the PS3. Ah you are one of those "people" that **** about multi disc games. I guess you are just to damn lazy eh?
There is no bottom line. You have done nothing but express your opinion. Don't make it sound as though you have injected any facts into this. You are just as bad as the idiots who are saying **** like "BIOWARE BETRAYED US". It's easy to tell people that if they take seriously what you said they are at fault, but you said it, grow up and live with it.

Is there any sort of image or logo stating that Mass effect 2 was ever exclusive to ANY platform? NO Mircosoft have always put the "Only for Xbox 360/Games for windows" logo up on games that are exclusive to them only. If you have any doubts about this go look at your case for the game and then get back to me and try and say with a straight face ME2 was exclusive. It was just unaanouced for the PS3 thus far. Chances are Microsoft had EA sign a agreement paying EA not to annouce ME2 for the PS3 after a certain amount of time has passed.

This is something to be jealous of?? Something we've all played dozens of times in it's entirety?? Time to rethink this negative line of thought folks.
Look at it this way; remember when the 360 got Devil May Cry 4, and the Sony camp's reaction to that? Karma is a funny thing, you've just gotta let it go...

I really don't care what platform I play the game on, as long as I can play it.
And my computer is always coming up with some random BS excuse to shut down when I play, so I prefer the console.
Not saying that there's something wrong with PC. It has its share of good games. I just don't like the people acting up about it.

Think about it like this; the PS3 version will have a truncated, miniature version of ME1 to allow for imported decisions.

There was an updated DMC3 included exclusively in the Xbox 360 version of DMC4? I admit I did not know about that.

But why else would Microsoft miss out the chance to put their stamp on the game like the did ME1? I'm genuinely interested in which games you have which I like this. Because I don't seem to have any of these in my collection they all either have the stamp or are multiplatform.

Most Xbox 360 + PC games do not have that "only on" unless the PC version is GfW. Its not even consistent within one game - my copy of DoA4 does not have "only on" while some other versions do have it.Andrewken2ky wrote...

Of course Microsoft did know the PS3 version is coming, nowwe know. Judging only by the missing "only on" wont get you anywhere (fun fact: both Ninja Gaiden II and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 have "only on").

They announce the PS3-port to be a bad joke AND THAN (becouse obviously THAT is not enough), they buy back all the PC-versions of the game AND retcon ME2 this way to be 100% X360 exclusive.
But seriously... BioWare has its ups and downs... but the growing PS3 support is most welcome

Bioware is a company. Companies produce things. Companies that produce things want people to buy those things they produce. People pay money for the things that the companies produce. The companies take the money people paid for the things they produced and use that money to pay employees and produce other things for people to buy. Thus, keeping up the cycle. So... if they seel a few units on the PS3 and make some money and then re-invest the money back into Mass Effect... maybe they will make Mass Effect more fun with more add ons and DLC's... just maybe. Or maybe life is so bad for you that you really do feel closer to a video game than you do anyone else. If that is the case... ther is a medication for that. And, I feel no sympathy for you what so ever.

Why is this important? Because "Exclusives" (Even temporary exclusives) tend to have higher production qualities as a result of the team not having to simultaneously optimize for two sets of vastly different hardware, while at the same time, building the non-technical aspects of the game. You wind up with a better product on both platforms if you just bite the bullet, and focus on one, and then port the other.
