Kasumi was released in what May? I paid $7 there is not any inclination that that price will be reduced at any point in time, even today 3 months later it has retained its $7 market value.

How much is it going to worth to you when it inevitably released as part of a GoTY package for the 360 and PC.  Which incidentally, I would bet is going to be dropping right around the same time as the PS3 version.

Well FTR I should state I'm against GOTY packages as well, ever since they started.

It's not the easiest question to answer but at some point equity would be nice..........which could be done in numerous ways (Discounts, actual Free DLC [ not inclusive of the price of the game ala Cerb Net])

Respect for peoples money always helps corporations in the long run

You do realize that I could go out today and buy the full game and all the DLC for approximately $10 less than you paid initially just for the retail game?  Are you expecting some sort of reimbursement for that?

It's a great question as to why its been devalued so much to begin with, there really isnt that much competition to ME for its genre and niche market.

Am I expecting a reimbursement....no, but again there are other ways to show appreciation to customers. Discounts, the occasional legitimate free-be. Just the other day I got a penn station message for free small fries zero strings attached it was nice, I appreciated it after various patronages there.

I am now approaching my game buying like most other purchase I make, suffice it to say ME3 will not be a day one purchase or even probably month 3 purchase for me. Same goes for any other game on the market!

Im not against PS3 at all, rather I am for equity during the situation.

the game has been out for 7 months thats plenty of time to play the 1st and the 2nd game

1.) Not everyone has a gaming quality PC.
2.) Not everyone has a friend with an Xbox 360 they can borrow.
3.) Buying a console for 1 or 2 games is stupid, if they wanted an Xbox, they'd already have one.

If that's is you stance on future gaming purchases, then I can respect that.  But the fact of the matter is that Bioware/EA priced the game and DLC and what they thought was faIr market value.  And you agreed with them and made the purchase.  It is their product, what they decide to do with the pricing in the future has no bearing on the fact that you have already purchased it.  First people who buy always pay a premium, be it for games or any other consumer product.

Would it be great if Bioware decided to release something to their customers for free or at a discounted price?  Of course it would.  But to expect it is not only unreasonable, but also completely childish.

Torhagen you're a complete toolbox.

BLK is right.  Not everyone has a PC that can run the Mass Effect games.

If a good friend came to you and said "hey man can I borrow your X-box while I play through both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 knowing they're both 60 hour games."  You'd totally be willing to give up your system for a week or more?  Yeah sure.

You know what's really unfair? I'll tell you what's really unfair. The PS3 crowd gets the patched planet scanner right from the get-go. Put that in your nerdrage pipe and smoke it.

I largely agree w/ everything except the bolded.............its been a standard business practice of any size business to reward loyal customers.

It's neither unreasonable nor childish.

Clothing, Cars, Malls, electroics, etc. always are on sale or have discounts. So lets try to keep the insults to a minimum!

More over this is the first opportunity for "Pure PS3 owners" to purchase the game.

For example honda released the crossover in China first to test the market then released it a year later in the US.......the same general principals apply here as well.........to get it in 09 would have been pricey and conviluted
but there are no new additions to the US version!

^^Cutting it short - I didn't mean to insult you, it's just the way I see it.  Well, like I mentioned the game is half of what it originally was and they have released a bunch of stuff over Cerberus.  And most importantly, Microsoft is in charge of setting the pricing on Live - If there were to be a discount on ME DLC, it would be from Microsoft.  And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended being a Deal of the Week at some point.

i dont know what kind of a selfish person you are or what kind of friends you have
but i certainly would lend a friend my console although it would be much more likely that we would enjoy that awesome game together at my house.

I dont mind that PS3 people are getting ME its a great series and they should enjoy it. Even if they get the DLC for free I dont care,  if the situation was switched we 360 users would be begging for it. As long as the PC, 360, and PS3 versions are treated equally then I'm fine. The only thing that would sting is if they get exclusive DLC that no one else gets. Though if its only exclusive for lets say a month or two sort of what was it was like with the GTA 4 DLC except 360 users got it first then I'm fine with that, as long as everyone gets it. As long as all three platforms are treated equally then welcome to my Sony comrades to the Mass Effect series.

The only thing that concerns me is that they make it sound like ME1 will be included afterall. How else can it be a "seamless introduction"?

And I'll be VERY disappointed if it isn't...

Likely a 1-5 hour mini-prequel, I doubt they're ever gonna recreate the full 40+ experience, haven't BW got about 5 different projects going on at the moment?

Also:

^^ Y'know what would make me happy
at this point? If Bioware managed to make Pinnacle Station free for the
360 so I could /finally/ have a complete ME1 achievement list.

Although
one thing about DLC being on the disk is the all the weapon packs, all
that firepower would make the game waaaaayyy too easy from the
get-go.

my edits from above:

More over this is the first opportunity for "Pure PS3 owners" to purchase the game. Intial purchasers have to pay a premium right?

For example honda released the crossover in China first to test the market then released it a year later in the US.......the same general principals apply here as well.........to get it in 09 in the US would have been pricey and conviluted much like ME2 for a pure PS3 owner would

but there are no new additions to the US version of a crossover, and its the same price point as the Chinese/Japanese model!

This is relevant because:
1) Did not have access to a good
2) Gained access at a later date
3) no additional options
4) same price point

Now there are other mechanics involved such as assembly, engineering etc., but in principal the analogy holds true.

Asking for equity or future goodwill is not an unreasonable request IMO

Are you guys that keep saying this stuff stupid, dense, or just complete morons? I mean really? Is it so freaking hard to grasp that MS paid for ME1. They OWN the rights to it. DO you get it? Is it clear? I mean good god... Also those of you that use M$ are just douche bags. you might as well spell sony as $ony. ALL companies are out to make a profit.

Quit your whining. Not everyone likes Xbox, if they want it on PS3, they should get it.

As long as it doesn't hurt the quality of PC version, if it does ( of course it does, that's just how consoles like to roll ), then they should be exterminated.

I can't take this thread anymore. Same stuff posted over and over and over. So I'll take my own advice and quit reading it.

1) ME1 IS NOT COMING TO PS3, IT CAN'T SO QUIT ASKING WHY ITS NOT. MICROSOFT PUBLISHED IT

2) DECISIONS IN ME1 WILL BE IMPORTANT IN ME3. IF YOU ARE POINTING TO THIS AS A REASON THEY WEREN'T IN ME2 YOU AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION TO HOW THE ENDGAME STORY IS SETTING UP.

3) I LIKE WAFFLES

Peace out
