I say good job BioWare. I just wish there was some kind of way for you guys to bring Mass Effect 1 to the PS3.WilliamShatner wrote...
Well congrats on selling the last part of your soul BioWare.
No loyalty anymore it seems.
They are selling their soul because SONY is paying them to bring over the game. They aren't bringing it over "so more people can enjoy it". This is a Capitalist economy, no one is telling anybody they can only own a certain console. The people who will be buying ME 2 for PS3 are those who didn't feel like buying it for 360, not because they were told they couldn't.
Plus Bioware's "big thing" that set their company apart from the rest is the decision making in their games. If you now have your franchise mult-platform and one platform doesn't have key decisions then you lose your decision making.
It's so sweet that people think for profit entities have souls.

Indeed.
I'm not against ME2 on the PS3, but certainly, it's not coming to the PS3 because of BioWare's good intentions or EA's kind heart.
It's all about money.

Bioware/EA have precedents for doing Stand Business Practices, I havent conflated or confused anything, to further illustrate my point you can refer to my subsequent point on pg 108.
regardless, there is a schism in pricing that seems relatively artifical, im not exactly sure how quantify it. Basically, for $60 the PS3 gamers seem set to get one heck of a deal when Comparing the 360 ME2 launch title vs PS3 ME2 launch title.
A "year wait" doesnt make much of a difference RE: Product was simply not available to "sole PS3 owner" so that point is moot
it really doesnt matter whats done is done. plus why not include all the DLC on the ps3? it can certainly fit all that dlc and since its already out on 360 its safe to say most ppl have it for 360. all the content being released on the ps3 would give people a reason to buy it for ps3.
I have to ask, why wouldnt you buy one of the best games of all time..........is the DLC incentive (not ME1 rehash, but others) the make or break selling point? It's arguably a better title than anything out on PS3 currently
I'll take your Mass Effect and raise you a Demon's Souls.
How about my friends who, like me, have been PC gamers since the mid-80's and finally switched to console gaming this generation. They, like me, have been avid fans and supporters of Bioware since BG was released in '98. While I purchased both systems, they only bought a PS3 and the only game that Bioware has released that they have been unable to play is Mass Effect. What does Bioware owe them? They haven't played Mass Effect, but they have played everything else the company has developed. Do they deserve something for having to wait for 3 years?

Not remotely my point.
Itachi, Et. al. are suggesting that they need extra incentive to buy it because its "a year old" by that time.
I'm not buying that arg one bit at all.
If they get all DLC inclusive, which looks likely, again I'm ok w/ that. The rub is throwing out a thanks to the Xbox and PC players.

Because those who feel that way will have played it already, either on 360 or pc. I own a 360 and a decent computer that can run games ok. If a hyped PS3 title all of a sudden would get a release date on 360 a year later, I most certainly wouldn't run to the nearest store to pick up a copy. However, if they would throw in a bunch of extra treats I might consider it. Otherwise I'd just concentrate on new stuff. Or wait until it dropped in price. If I could live without that game before, why shouldn't I be able to now?

I loled.
This conspiracy stuff and betrayal, loyalty...etc. It seems that a lot of people think that Bioware owes them something just because they bought a videogame.
Yeah, I'm glad too. I have a couple of friends who have PS3, and they both criticized the ME saga, now they're all crazy about it, saying "Look, look, your pretty MS lost a franchise". But in the end, I'm the one laughing :innocent:

Wait no I was being serious. How could Bioware do this OH THE BLASPHEMY. But ya, I dont understand fanboys sometimes. Bioware doesnt owe them anything. You bought their game, you enjoyed it, thats the client/company relationship. Its like I buy a car, I drive it for 10 years, and then I buy a new car.
And also I love that ME2 will be spread around. It needs to be, Bioware needs more recognition and such. Hell with TOR coming out hopefully they will get it.

Kinda figured ME2 to PS3 would happen. After all there have been many Playstation exclusives that are Xbox-bound (Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken, Smackdown vs. Raw). My final take on this is that Bioware must have gotten a sweet deal for this. So as long as Bioware keeps the core users of the ME franchise happy (i.e. the Xbox and PC users) I'm cool with PS3 users getting in on the action.

All purchases are naturally personal decisions, its good to debate the merits of DLC carrots! I wouldnt need them to purchase GOW3! but to each his own.

Agreed. I won't be happy paying for Liara DLC while the PS3 gets it for free though. Either both pay or both are free. DLC prior to the PS3 announcement for free however is fine. Equality for all platforms from now on. Is that too much to ask?SteelerWayne wrote...

Nobody has said anything regarding what DLC in particular will be integrated into the PS3 version of ME2.

Besides the unknown, DLC for ME2 whether it was free via Cerberus Network or paid DLC has been met with alot of negativity by I'm sure some of the "people" that have such a problem with ME2|PS3 getting any DLC at all.

I know that there have been no specific announcements about which DLC will be included. But my vote goes for, all DLC released prior to announcement for free on PS3, all DLC post announcement equal on both platforms, so, either all free or all pay. Guess that's fair, right?Operative84 wrote...

The only thing that concerns me is that they make it sound like ME1 will be
included afterall. How else can it be a "seamless introduction"?
And I'll be VERY disappointed if it isn't...
Are you guys that keep saying this stuff stupid, dense, or just complete morons? I mean really? Is it so freaking hard to grasp that MS paid for ME1. They OWN the rights to it. DO you get it? Is it clear? I mean good god... Also those of you that use M$ are just douche bags. you might as well spell sony as $ony. ALL companies are out to make a profit.
It's gonna be so awesome if ME1 does somehow make it into ME2 for PS3, not just because it's an awesome game, but because of the reaction it'll get out of guys like you.
If I had to guess, had anyone have made a topic about ME2 on PS3 a week ago, you'd have been one of the guys posting something like, "lol no me2 is never coming to ps3 bcoz its a 360 exclusive so just get over it"
