I'm pissed....I Already hate the Playstation 3 to its very core....And now, I want to destroy every single PS3 Console there is and ever will be for Having My Favorite Game available to play on it....How Dare You I Say, How Dare You Put Mass Effect 2 on That Damned Console!!!

OH THE BLASPHEMY. OH THE TERROR.
I hope you're joking

No, I most certainly am not.

Wow, you sir, have a very good sense of humor.
Now, if you're REALLY not joking, I must say that I'm not a PS3 fan. I'm a proud 360 owner, but...
This is too much.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, that is yours; I respect it. I make no attempts to say what I said is false because that is mine.

Well, I don't like the PS3, that's why I don't have one. Its games don't appeal to me, either. Just God of War.
What I don't like about the Sony system is the fact that usually, its games receive more things, when someone complains about that, general opinion is that they're crybabies, but I don't think that's fair.
You see...EA has already given the PS3 the divine edition of Dante's Inferno, free content for Brütal Legend, now Dead Space Extraction included on their Dead Space 2 editions.
I don't really have a problem with them having ME2, BUT, if they were getting, say, new characters or something that 360 owners couldn't have, then I would be pissed, indeed.
If they get the same game, then no prob. Bioware is adding something to compensate the fact that ME1 will never go to Sony, so that's fair.
I don't hate PS3, nor its owners. But oh well, I respect your opinion. Expect to be bashed, though.

I don't hate there owners either, my cousins have one; I just hate the console itself. It doesn't have very good online capabilities, due to the fact its online service is completely free. It being free means the have no extra revenue coming in to help upgrade the online play unlike Microsoft and The Xbox 360. As well as the Blu-Ray player, that alone is what makes the console so expensive. Although I hate the PS3 to my degree, I won't Lie; It has some great games. For Instance: I always wanted to play Infamous...Hell I still do, but that won't make me go out and by the PS3 just because of one game. Also it's only fair if they send one back, beause the only thing that quell my hatred some would be if Sony sent My Favorite Playstation only title(For the Most Part): A Kingdom Hearts game, I don't even care which one as long as it sees the 360.

I don't care what he thinks of my opinion, his is still selfish, irrational, and stupid. How about "I don't think people in Missouri should be allowed to eat Baconators because I don't like Missouri!" Does that sound like an opinion worth respecting to you?

EDIT: Clearly he hasn't heard of PlayStation Plus yet, either.

Still it's nice it's coming to the PS3, I played it much on the 360 and am really interested in what for extra's it would have on the PS3. Still it's a great game and because the trophies are interesting, got most Achievements for the 360 version except the ones from the last DLC.

Still would be nice for the 360 users if a game from the PS3 would come on the 360 for some.

You mean like Devil May Cry 4 and Final Fantasy XIII, which were originally going to be PS3-exclusive? The 360's pulled a few cookies from the cookie jar, make no mistake. It's the PS3 that's been the underdog all this time.

Okay actually on topic .... Bioware are saying that a "seamless" intro sequence of some kind will cover the hours and hours of gameplay experience ME1 gave? Somehow I doubt it will be the same. They've basically neutered the port since its story is a follow up sequel in all respects that has no real impact on its own, and is going to leave PS3 players wondering what all the fuss was about after that silly Starfox end boss is done with.

It has plenty of impact on its own, it just lacks context when you don't know some basic things about what happened in the first game. It's kind of like watching The Empire Strikes Back without watching A New Hope, y'know? You won't for example, feel the sort of impact when the Normandy blows up and your Shepard gets spaced as you would if you played the first game first, but there's enough to the game that it can satisfy on its own merits.

But because PS3 users can't even be expected to go out and pick up a used copy of the first game to brush up, their choices are either some kind of in-game synopsis, or YouTube. Obviously an in-game synopsis is more likely to make up for the lack of a save-game import feature.

No it doesn't; the idea that if you pay for something it's automatically of a higher quality is far-right objectivist logic (Or, in other words, silly logic).

Something that is free can be just as good as something that is paid for (Anti-malware software is a great example of this; Spybot S & D, for example, is pretty much all you need, whereas commercial **** like Webroot Spysweeper doesn't work at all), so one must judge something on its own merits and not based on its price tag (Especially considering that, in the grand scheme of things, a $50 one-year subscription isn't all that money, anyway). Is PSN perfect? Of course not, but it works.

As well as the Blu-Ray player, that alone is what makes the console so expensive.

Last time I checked, the 120G version of the console is $299. That's a very (And historically, as well, looking back at previous gen consoles and their price tags) reasonable price for a current gen console. The "it's too expensive" argument doesn't really apply anymore.

Strictly speaking, the "it's too expensive" argument hasn't applied for a while. When you compared the price of a PS3 to the price of a 360 and the accessories needed to make up for the things it doesn't come with out of the box that the PS3 had built in (like a wireless adaptor), the prices came out even for a good while. Now they come out even because both consoles have simply set their prices lower.

The PS3 was only prohibitively expensive at the start. Even then the price would likely have been considered more or less worth it if Microsoft hadn't yanked the rug out from under Sony's feet by exchanging hardware reliability for an early lead on game production, but as it was, the problem of price and the problem of a less worthwhile game library... not good at all.

Not so much now. The consoles are priced pretty much evenly and the game-library issue is evening itself out. It's all a matter of judging the consoles and libraries on their own merits and picking the one that's right for you.

Incidentally, on the subject of paying for PSN and Sony getting extra revenue to make it better, they recently started some thing called PlayStation Plus, where you pay a certain amount for extra services. Not sure about the details, but they started it around E3 this year.

The fact that it's free has nothing to do with the online capabilities.  Playstation made PSN a pass through service as opposed to end all destination like Live.  And the "it doesn't have good online capabilities" argument is getting as tired as the "it doesn't have any games" argument of two years ago.

Damn people, wake up and realize that both systems have their strengths and weaknesses.  Just because you may not be fortunate enough to own both does not mean that the one you own is king and the other one is absolute crap.

It's going to be interesting to see what they do about the "introduction experience". I tried playing a default ME2 character (one I hadn't imported) but was put off when I met Tali on Freedom's Progress. She acted as though she knew Shepard, yet there was no gravity to the meeting like there is when you import a character.

I guess that to make up for these things, whatever feature is used will have to be quite in depth.

It can't be too intrusive, though. People want to play the game. My money is still on character creation including a psyche-test that makes a lot of the smaller decisions for you.

Couldn't they tack a psyche test onto Miranda's little Q&A aboard the shuttle?

Nothing has been stated yet.  But the general assumption is that, yes, it will.  I assume that this release will accompanied by a GoTY edition for the 360 and PC.

It hasn't been confirmed exactly what the additional content will be, only that there will be "hours" of it. It could very well just be some of the DLC and still fit the bill.

They could, but it would be out-of-place. Miranda couldn't gain anything from a psyche evaluation; she only wanted to ensure that Shepard's memories were intact. A personality-test kind of deal would fit in more cleanly if they just inserted it into the character-creation screen.

or a terminal in the room where shepard wakes up that contains the reports on his/her missions of ME1, maybe something given to miranda by the illusive man to know more about sheppard, medical reports, mission reports and the like.

I knew this was coming!!!! When bioware signed on with EA I told my wife it would go over to the PS3. I own a PS3, and a 360 and I really really love my 360 and I am kinda sad to see this go to the PS3 and turn multi platform. That's EA for you. I will continue to still play it on my XBOX 360 though. Although at least on the PS3 it will be on only 1 disc though that's not really a big deal. On the bright side atleast now everyone will get to know how truely UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME MASS EFFECT IS!!!!!!Posted ImagePosted Image

You know, it's actually kind of ironic, as something not too different from this happened a couple of E3s ago; Sony fanboys were pissed off and incredibly envious while Xbox fanboys were laughing their asses off when FFXIII was announced for the Xbox 360 in addition to the PS3. Now, Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PS3, and Xbox fanboys are pissed off and incredibly envious while Sony fanboys are laughing their asses off.

So you see, in the end, the universe balances everything out.
