That was several pages ago. The ****ing is about how PS3 users won't get the same experience as Xbox/PC users because BioWare doesn't have the rights to ME1.

Why do I get the feeling you and batman are the same person under two different accounts? Sockpuppet, anyone?
Anyway, we where actually done talking about Macs and getting back on topic, b*tching about the fact that EA will release ME2 on the PS3.

Yeah well, I couldn't care less for being in the luxury position of having both, the Xbox360 and PS3.
But yeah, in my opinion either both Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 should be ported to the PS3, or neither. It's just silly that only ME2 will be released on the PS3 but not ME1. But ah well, can't be helped I guess.

No we wer're saying how fans are overeacting to a completley reasonable buisness descion considering mass effects less than fantastic sales consdiering it's the top Game of the year contender so far, and we should be happy that our beloved game is expanding to a wider audience.

I agree. But as I said earlier, it's just stupid that only ME2 will be ported to the PS3. I know it can't be helped because EA doesn't have the rights of ME1 (but maybe that can change?), but that doesn't make it less awkward.
In my opinion they should port either both games (1 & 2) to the PS3 or neither of them.

And thus, there really isn't anywhere to go from the ME on PS3 discussion. Xbox 360 and PC fanboys will have to deal with the fact that they're not the only ones who get to play ME2, and gamers in general will have to accept the unfortunate fact that PS3 players will not be able to experience the original ME.
Anyway, the discussion about Udina as the villain of the next ME was far better, so let's get back to that. Otherwise, we'd just be talking in circles.

They have stated that the ps3 version will include something to keep new players up to speed, and Mass effect 2 was already dumbed down alot for new players. Bioware wanted people to be able to play the second without having to play the first, and have playing the first just a bonus

Which I can understand. And yes, ME2 is in some way a stand-alone game that is part of a trilogy but stil can stand on it's own. But The whole importing your save-file from ME1 to ME2 (and soon to ME3) is one of the things that makes Mass Effect so awesome.
Many people that I know who never payed any attention to ME1, now do buy ME1 because of ME2. A friend of mine just recently bought ME2 for the PC. He loved it and then I told him how ME1 is even more awesome and how it can influence your ME2 experience with a save-import. Two days later he also bought ME1 for the PC and now he's playing ME1 to import his ME1 save-file in ME2.
The thing is, that Xbox360 and PC games can always choose to buy ME1, even if they start with ME2. PS3 players lack this possibility. They could still buy the PC version but what's the point? They still wouldn't be able to import their save-file on their PS3. This is why in my opinion the Mass Effect experience is incomplete on the PS3.
Its good that the PS3-only gamers can finally enjoy ME2 soon, but it's a shame that they will never be able to get the complete and true Mass Effect experience unlike us.

What real impact has import had on ME2?, your romance is glazed over and council descion is hardly mentioned, you just get a few more NPC's to talk to on hub plantets really
And who knows maybe the ps3 bonus content will include a short flashback level thing where they make these descions

For the most part it was implied that most of the important decisions you made from 1 would see their effect in ME3, which led to the need to keep important characters alive for the finale (so Ash/Liara/Wrex (if you saved him)/etc. couldn't be playable in ME2). With the seemingly nulled importance of ME1, Bioware's initial promise falls under certain scrutiny.

What's the point of playing ME1 and 2 if you can't import saves.Yeah the great story, gameplay and graphics are not worth playing ME for.

I disagree. While alot of people give ME1's gameplay some flack, I thoroughly enjoyed the game on all fronts. Same with ME2.

Really, what impact do those decisions have on you as the player if you haven't played the full game?
*PS3 player during the PS3-only prologue in the PS3 port of ME2*:
"Man that Wrex dude, I don't know him, but he looks dangerous! Better just kill him to be save! I don't know him anyway so who cares if he dies."
"Oh I have to choose who dies, that girl soldier or that male tech dude? Ehmmm dunno, I think the girl looks hot so I'll let the tech dude die, whoever that may be. I believe his name was Kaiden? Ah well..."
"Oh I have to choose to either save the council or let them die? That's fun! But who is the council anyway? Ahh well, they look important so better just save them!"

First you underestimate the average ps3 player
Second so? No matter what you choose on any of those descions nothing really changes

Well, to be fair, that's pretty much what that choice amounted to. Kaiden and Ashley where both pretty bland characters.
