What's the point of playing ME1 and 2 if you can't import saves.Yeah the great story, gameplay and graphics are not worth playing ME for.
I hope for you that this post is sarcasm. If you actually played ME1 you know that the ME1 story is in many points superior to the ME2 story. Missing ME1 = missing a great deal of the Mass Effect experience!
Which is exactly why its fishy that Bioware (well, Christina Norman anyways) claimed that ME1's decisions would still carry over to ME3; yet they decided it was only necessary to port ME2 to the PS3.
I think it's not a matter of not being necessary but more a matter of not having the right to port ME1 to the PS3. As far as I know, ME1 is still property of Microsoft, not EA. So EA can't release ME1 on the PS3, Microsoft wouldn't allow it.
I'm aware of Microsoft's ownership of ME1's publishing rights. What I was trying to say was: if Bioware was so concerned of the impact of ME1 choices going into ME3, they would have likely felt only being able to port ME2 to be an unacceptable substitution and not bothered.
According to the gibbet save editor there was something like a bigillion (exaggeration, but there was alot) plot points that were recorded. I don’t see how an introductory sequence could quite possibly cover all of it unless it was literally a long and tacky questionnaire.
Anyho, there’s seems more than likely (given the recent results of Bioware “streamlining” their products for broader audiences) that many ME1 decisions must be cut in order to equalize the ME3 for all platforms.
