I have a PS3 and I'm happy that ME2 is coming to it, but without ME1 it's basically a slap in the face to PS3 owners. (In general EA - I don't think it's Bioware - seems to want to forget about ME1 which is baffling.)



I played both on my PC (don't own a 360) so I'll probably just continue to play there anyway.

As for save game continuity, it didn't worry me with DAO either. Some of the dlc in DAO broke the story continuity from my warden's save game choices....it's not a game breaker for me. The characters and gameplay made the game for me.

It's a legal issue. If they could release ME1 on PS3 and make a lot of money, believe me, they would.

But ME1 isn't available to us, so there's no point getting upset over it. The point I am making is that many PS3 owners like myself will welcome this game with open arms. It's regarded as one of the best games of this generation. Especially when you consider how few quality games of this genre exist on PS3.

I can cobble together a story by reading up on the internet....it may not be optimal, but on balance the game is likely to be so good that it's still very very worthy of my time and money.

It will still sell very well on PS3 because we are very aware of how great it was considered on xbox - we aren't stupid, we know which games from the xbox we'd like on PS3. EA know this, they are a business first and won't care about upsetting xbox owners to chase the dollar.

I played both ME and ME2 and it's not that big of a deal to use the save file from ME. It's a great game no doubt about it, actually I think I even liked it better than ME2 but for those who will only get the second, the game save file thing is almost like a gimmick in my opinion, with a few comments about the preview ME but nothing huge. From what I see in some posts, it seems folks didn't get through the fact ME2 is coming to PS3 anyway, so they're trying to sabotage the game for the other system with this whole: "ME2 will not be good for the PS3 if you don't have the save file from the first game". Like I said, I played the crap out of both games and they're great games but the way BioWare did the second, you don't really need the save file and folks here are trying to make too big of a deal out of it. I would still recomend the PS3 community to play ME maybe on PC if they can just because the game is really great, but the second on your system will be just as fun.

Fanboys are blowing this whole save file thing out of proportion here, and making too big of a deal out of it. I played both ME and ME2 so I would say... Get the game and start playing it and you'll see. The way BioWare made ME2, you don't really need the save file, of course if you can get at least the PC version of ME just because the game is so much fun it would be good but you don't really need it in order to have fun with the second, don't worry so much with the save file thing.

This PS3 port will probably be done by a separate Bioware team not working on ME3. Saying that "We have to wait one more year for me3" is ludicrous. Its still in its pre-production stage for christ sakes! It took around 2 years and 2 months for ME2 to come out after ME1 so don't except ME3 to come out until around early 2012.
