I still think this is a bad idea :/ Let them have their God of War and Metal Gear Solid, let us keep our Halo and Mass Effect.

I'm assuming "Hours of bonus content" means all the free stuff from the Cerberus Network (Zaeed, Firewalker, Cerberus armor/shotgun, etc.) along with a short pre-game thing that lets you chose what your Shep did in ME1. If there is any PS3 exclusive stuff i'll be pissed, we have been fans for years and don't get it? COME ON!

It will have all the DLC, a custom intro to introduce new players to the mass effect mythos, and customized access to the Cerberus Network.

I fully understand that people made an investment with this game and it can be quite irritating to see someone else receive it for free.
They should have made the PS3 version $40 with Shadow Broker as bonus since it's story related

Sure, the moment they make ANY non crapware game that's new to a system 40 bucks. I wouldn't object to a properly priced one being out with the DLC attatched though.

Why not? especially when today a new 360 player will pay $40, a new PC player will pay $30, yet a new PS3 er will be asked to pay $60.
The difference in prices all but covers the content purchased since.
Add to that the fact that I'd bet cash there will be a nice, fat piece of DLC for everyone to buy come 1.12.11.

Sigh. This needs to be repeated until it starts to sink in.
Eventually ALL that stuff gets packaged into a GOTY edition for far less than you or I have invested to this point. That's how it works
You are not paying X number of points to play DLC.
When you pay, you are paying X number of points to play it NOW, as opposed to waiting for the inevitable, less expensive repackage.

Look it up. Mass Effect 2 was
supposed to follow the death of Shepard with you playing as Legion and
helping Liara recover Shepard's body.
Do you have any oficial source? Because if they truly wanted to do something like that, they would have added it as DLC.

That's not necesarily true, Dragon Age didn't get a GOTY edition even though it was awarded as game of the year several times, plus, goty editions are something that can't be planned months ahead unlike the PS3 port.
And i hope that they don't put exclusive content in the PS3 version, i WON'T buy this game twice and it's BS that only one version gets the full experience,.
And for the ones that are telling the ME franchise won't get better thanks to the PS3 port, multiplatform games do get a bigger budget but they also need to be optimized for the three platforms, and games ALWAYS suffer from that.
Specially a consoles like the PS3, have you ever wondered why multiplatform games almost always look better on 360? it's because is harder to develop for PS3, 360 is pretty much an underpowered PC so developing for both systems it's pretty much the same.
Now making games for the PS3 it's a completely different story, i wouldn't be surprised if ME's quality drops because of this (unless they are making the game for PC and 360 and then porting it to the PS3 like now).

Probably they will just bring back content that was cut from original release. After all, they need not only to encourage people who never played ME2 to buy it on PS3, but also encourage re-buying it for PS3.
(Perhaps this varies from country to country, but in Europe PS3 is often expected to be the best gaming platform - probably due to PS2 legacy. If you ask me, you get yourself a good PC and a PS3 and you're all set. For ME1 in 1080p and short loading times for example.)

After they doubled the size of the scope and increased the speed with the patch it's fine. I just empty out each planet in the system as I play through Firewalker and I'm good for the rest of the game.
I always do Firewalker, Normandy Crash Site and the N7s Estavannico and the 3 parter with the malfunctioning robots to up my points before starting the game proper.

Hey, BW also said PS3 version will have different visuals and gameplay compared to the 360.
http://www.computera...e.php?id=266845
You're mis-representing the article. All it says is that the visuals might be slightly different due to the PS3's architecture. It'll be more like the differences between the DragonAge's on the different platforms than a whole new visual style.
It also does not say there will be "different gameplay" from the 360, but that playing it will feel different due to it being on a different platform. His example? The controller is different.
The article is only talking about slight differences made necessary by the different systems NOT some grand sweeping changes to the very game itself.

I hope they let people choose what happened in ME1 like I remember what Bioware said they were gonna do but they didn't do that except for 1-2 things(forgot how many choices we had, havent played for a while). The default option sucked so horribly that you are required to load a previous save to feel more satisfied with the story and events that happened in ME1 that carried to ME2.
I agree. I wanna be able to make the choices that you made from ME1. I mean if you cant then you cant continue your romance with Liara in Lair of the Shadow Broker, Cause you didnt romance her in the first. So I hope they actually make it that you can make the decisions from ME1 in this introduction feature they are talking about.
But in all honesty I hope they dont change things too much.

well its nice to see people ****ing about sony and trying to find soloce in this time of great stress but i have some thing to say to fabulos MGS Rising is not just for the 360 its for PS3 as well so no we dont get an exclusive<_<

yes, MGS rising is not a 360 exclusive. Why should it be? the MGS saga started on PS consoles, they can't alienate their userbase like this. But PS3 owners are not losing anything with Rising going to 360/PC. Just like 360/PC owners are not losing anything with ME2 going to PS3. You guys have a strange sense of entitlement over these games. FF13 was planned as a PS3 exclusive and later went on 360. Did you also b*tch about that? The age of 3rd party exclusives is over. Why should Square neglect 40+ millions 360 owners and not release FF13 on 360? Why should Bioware/EA negelect the 38+ millions PS3 owners and not release ME2 on PS3? It does not make any sense. Is there not money to be made there? They are a business, and I fully expect the now PS3 exclusive FF Versus 13 to also go on 360.LordMarrick wrote...
