The PC version supports 3D on Nvidia GPU's just like pretty much every game with 3D graphics, but BioWare never designed the game to look good in 3D and therefore probably won't consider it for a port either. While the PS3 is technically capable of displaying 3D graphics, the stereo effect cuts the framerates in half which means the game will have to run at a low resolution and reduced graphical quality overall.tj987654321 wrote...
While I am not thrilled that Mass Effect 2 is being ported to PS3; do you think they will utilize any of PS3 benefits other than graphics, such as Playstation Move capabilities and 3D?

If the PS3 version has content the Xbox 360 and PC versions don't have I'd be pretty angry. But hey, atleast the first Mass Effect won't be ported to PS3. For now.
You should count on it having extra content. I don't remember where, but I remember reading an article that said that Sony made game developers include extra content on later PS3 ports of released games. It said that Sony didn't allow a straight port years after the game's original release on another system (which is totally logical). I would think the same would apply here.
There's absolutely no way that the PS3 version will be identical in content to the Xbox360 version, and that's already confirmed because of the "introductory experience" which was not in the Xbox360 and PC versions.
I tried to find some links to back up what I heard, but I can't find anything really concrete. Just rumors that Sony demands at least 20% extra content. (old article http://www.joystiq.c...t-come-to-ps3/ Look in the comments search for "porting") or how they made Namco Bandai include more content for Tales Of Vesperia (http://gamer.blorge....sives-revealed/)

One thing is for sure apparently it might look slightly different to the 360 version due to the different architecture on each console, will be interesting to see the results..
Could look better or wrost, but who knows... better look equal to 360 or better if they are asking $60.00. I'm going to get mass effect 2 for the ps3 but if bioware screw the ps3 fanbase with a quick port than no.

You would be right. I Sony-Man can confirm this. Also on PSP ports, you can't have the same content. You must have 20% more content for PSP games as well as PS3 games. Just about any PS3 owner would know this.

You guys do realize that the special intro made for the PS3 because it will never see ME1 counts as the "extra content" that Sony supposedly requires. And both the 360 and PC already have the full introductory experience unlike the poor replacement the PS3 gets....it's called Mass Effect 1 rofl.
At this point we know that the PS3 version will have an introductory module, we do not know if the major DLC are included or not. Personally, I wouldn't be too bothered if the PS3 users get the DLC from the get-go. After all, the poor sods can't play ME1 and have had to wait for a year to get their hands on ME2.

Actually, now I've remembered that too! The thing about mandatory PS3-exclusive content for late PS3 releases. It's a relatively new requirement though.ReveurIngenu wrote...

Do you remember the rumor, that originally you were supposed to play as Legion, searching for Shepard's body after the into scene where Shepard dies? Later on this part's been cut, and after the intro you immediately see Illusive Man cutscene, character creation and Shepard waking up.

If such a thing is included into the ps3 system i would buy it with the game xd
Does sony allow the 20% extra content to be available for other systems? Or are they going to be a ****** and demand exclusivity?
I would be pissed if the ps3 version gets content the 360 and pc will never get, even though they have been fans since the first game, read the books and played the hirrible game on the ithouch

Sony don't demand exclusivity on the extraSo the extra content that will come with the ps3 version will also be made available for the xbox 360 and PC users
We all win
I bet the reason we haven't heard of any new DLC is because of this release. I'm guessing whatever new DLC they have planned will come bundled with the PS3 version (or they'll get early acces to the DLC on PSN) and then it'll become available for those of us that have the game on PC or Xbox.

BTW, I bet the game will utterly bomb just like BioShock 1 PS3 did.
Well not really microsoft, because EA teamed with Bioware to make ME2 right? If I am wrong than still Damn both!
