Makes a lot of sense. Loyal fans often collect various versions of the game. Besides, PS3 has a history of getting late "best" versions of games (actually - version with a lot of extras) and loyal fans are willing to pay to see what's the extra stuff this time. By now this extra content requirement for late ports has been made mandatory, even **** like Blacklight: Tango Down had to offer a PS3 exclusive map, as it's being released really late on PSN.Darkstar87uk wrote...
So they're getting ME2 but not ME1? that alone makes the pc and 360 version better. I'm not sure why people are saying they're going to get on PS3 if they already have on PC or 360 it makes no sense...
For example, Alone in the Dark: Inferno on PS3 was the best (or, let's say the only really playable and enjoyable - meh, it had problems anyway) version of AoD, yet original first AoD has never been available for Sony platforms. What's the problem with ME1 if you can buy it for PC really cheap? System requirements are low by today standards and owning both PC and PS3 is pretty common (best of gaming world). As for importing saves I bet they'll offer an introduction that will allow you to make all the important decision, like with that alien queen, and Wrex etc. Meh, I've lost my ME1 saves anyway... Played as a total renegade, haven't romanced anyone.
Speaking of myself, I have, for example, both PC and PS3 versions of original Bioshock. PS3 version have some nice exclusive stuff (too bad you have to pay for it) and an exclusive insanely hard difficulty. Selecting weapons and plasmids is far easier on PC though - hotkeys FTW. I'm glad I own both versions, so I can say I had the most full and definite Bioshock experience. And still have two nice boxes.
The bottom line is, people are willing to revisit ME2 universe and with some extra content it feels even more appealing.

Mafia 2 is an exception.Plus if you read Digital Foundry's analysis on Mafia 2 you will learn that the only advantage the 360 version has over the PS3 is more grass. Both console versions have bad physics while the PC version is miles ahead in terms of in-game physics at least .Let's hope all future games are equal on all platforms.Darkstar87uk wrote...
I'm not sure about getting the best versions of games from what I've seen its known to get lots of inferior ports. Have you seen Mafia 2 on the PS3? no grass and hardly any physics.

You know, i have never seen so much devotion from someone to a bloody circut board.Darth_Trethon wrote...
You guys do realize that the special intro made for the PS3 because it will never see ME1 counts as the "extra content" that Sony supposedly requires. And both the 360 and PC already have the full introductory experience unlike the poor replacement the PS3 gets....it's called Mass Effect 1 rofl.

That's what I'm thinking. All three system will get the Ultimate Edition when it comes out on the PS3. It took just about a year for the Ultimate Edition for DA:O to come out, and it's looking like the same thing for ME2.Monkey FunkR wrote...
I wonder if the PS3 release will result in an Ultimate Edition being released for PC and 360.

Well, technically it's less than 3 months as last I recalled it's supposed to be out in January, but yeah, seems a bit odd that they've not said anything else about it yet.TMA LIVE wrote...
I wonder when they'll start talking about it, since it's coming out in 3 months.

1)I agree that you agree on what I said
2)Bioware said they will bundle some off the the Xbox/PC's DLC on the PS3 version's disc.I know that when it's on a disc it can't be DLC(downloadable content). What I mean is the 360's DLC on the PS3's disc.

So, according to the german BioWare boards (new infos from Casey Hudson) the PS3 version contains an interactive comic with background infos and decisions and also Overlord, Kasumi and Shadow Broker DLCs as well as Cerberus Network access.
They also mention a new 6 hour mission, but no further details on that.

The interactive comic "Dark Horse" which informs the player about the back story and offers various choices
The three previously released DLC "Kasumi: Stolen Memories", "Overlord"
and "hiding the Shadow Broker '
Moreover, even accompanied by a code that allows you access to all
published to date content on the network gets Ceberus
A new mission for about six hours of play time.

What can be expected, according to Greg Zeschuk?
The most important thing is that the PlayStation 3 is based on a completely different architecture. Visually it can come to some changes. In particular, the storage and distribution of the graphics chip differ dramatically. We will not again unleash the discussion, which has the two platforms for more power, since we can achieve our objectives on both platforms.
If you develop games that you want to make accessible the broadest possible mass. And exactly this opportunity is offered to us. I think the game will be slightly different feel to the PS3. Just by the controller, it will play differently. (Source: Play3.de)

You have to use a translator it's in German.I'm not taking credit for this since I was not the first to report.I just thought it would be convenient if I directly copied and posted it.

I hope those 3 DLCs are on the disc since the PS3 version will be on Blu-Ray.
I hope they re-encode the FMVs for the PS3 version as well since a Blu-Ray can hold uncompressed video and audio with no problem.
I hope it also has an uncompressed 7.1 LPCM audio track. ::drools::
I'm also wondering if it's possible for it to support Steamworks in some way. Steam Cloud saving perhaps? Probably not likely until Portal 2 is released on PS3, but one has to think big from time-to-time.

Maybe if you 360 fanboys stop being fanboys, get a PS3 and play all the great games PS3 has got to offer then you won't have to stress the f**k out on this non issue. I got both consoles and having twice as fun as you sore losers.
I Aint A 360 Fanboy I Just Prefer It, I Just Dont Like Half As Many Games On The PS3 As I Do On The 360^_^
And FYI Not Everyone Can Afford Both!
