...Urgh. Though that comic can't possibly measure up to actally climbing up the citadel yelling at Saren and speaking to Soveriegn.

Such a rip off. :(

You can alway play ME1 on PC. The downside of course is having to use the interactive comic instead of direct import of savegame for PS3 ME2.

Oh I already have the game on PC/Xbox but some PS3 playrs might not be able to afford a good PC (or want to buy one) or an Xbox.

I've lost my PC saves and can't bring myself to replay the game. So, PS3 version might be just what I need.

Actually you know there's a mass effect saves site if you want a specific outcome? So you don't have to blow your money on the PS3 version.

Edit: Here

Well, I will hold on a bit - after all, I prefer PS3. If there will be some real exclusive content I'll buy it. But if they won't announce it by Christmas - well, I guess I'll buy ME2 on Steam and forget about PS3 version.

OH XD I assumed you already had the PC version. Though if there was going to be actual exclusive content why not announce it early? *sighs*

This reminds me of the SO4 nonsense. Granted they actually got exclusive content (two whole characters I believe) but still...

See Lord Gremlin you say yourself you cant bring yourself to replay ME1! This is exactly why we PC/360 owners want the comic too because ME1 is dated and not enjoyable anymore to some of us. The comic would be an easy fun way to set our backgrounds. :)

What about the Cheevos?!

The PC crowd doesn't really have this problem though. They can just important anothers savefrom the Internet. There's a site that's deticated to hosting said useable saves.

Xbox crowd can use the save game editor to modify their ME1 choices.

That requires too much thinking. Much easier to beg Bioware for the Comic...

WHAT THE HELL!!!??? MASS EFFECT FOR PS3! LOL JK

I think its cool that the Ps3 will get to experience the Mass Effect universe. I'm playing ME1 through again, Xbox, to finish work on my serious character for ME3. As for ME1 on the Ps3 I wish Microsoft, Sony, etc would let loose a bit about competition and let people play cross platforms so people on PC, Xbox, and Ps3 could play games together, but just an idea. Hope those that get it for the Ps3 have a good time with this great series.

It is appropriate that ME is finally expanding, but I sincerely hope that this won't interfere with new DLCs for PC and Xbox versions.

P.S: I finally bought a game - it was much harder to find than I anticipated.

Will be interesting to see what 'interaction' there is in the comic and if choices can be altered which ones. I can think of 5 main ones that were sort of 'story related' (speciallly as 1 of them could be avoided but in the default backstory it wasn't). Just thought of a 6th but I really doubt that would make it in due to it not being really integral to the story and I believe often considered as just a 'bonus' for players (though it will mean that PS3 owners will miss out on something in the LotSB mission).

Would be cool if there was some Mass Effect goodness coming to PS Home. Would be neat to have a 'Afterlife' area and outfits from the game for the Home Avatars to wear. Maybe even the option to have the Avatar do the Shepard dance :P

One thing that has just crossed my mind about the comic, is it going to be seperate and used as a sort of 'import save file' or will players have to go through it for every playthrough?

I personally have no issues if have to go through it but know how people complained on PC/360 version of ME2 about having to go through just the tiny bit right at the start of the game, so can only imagine how some people might react for having to go through the comic as well lol

As far as I can tell from what I have read in the official statement by Jesse the comic will be seperate and you will have to import the save file that gets created with the comic.

Jesse clearly indicates that the comic is being distributed NOT on the disc but via the Cerberus network :-

Jesse Houston ......

This interactive comic's initial release will be exclusive to PS3 owners who would be otherwise unable to realize the full effect of choice in the Mass Effect universe and will be included on the Cerberus Network.

So if you buy ME 2 new you will have the option of either playing the game with the default choices straight away (like PC/360 users) or alternatively you can download the comic and generate a save with your choices.  However if you buy the game used you will not have access to the Cerberus network (unless you pay more) and you will be restricted to playing Mass Effect 2 with the default choices.

That is my take on the situation, we won't fully know till Bioware release more info though.

Well this means there won't be any Shepard/Liara for PS3 gamers since if you start a new game that hasn't been imported from ME1 you get Ashley/Kaiden forced down your throat.

I wouldn't discount the Liara romance not being available in the PS3 version.  Sure if you just start off a default Mass Effect 2 you will be stuck with the default decisions (just like PC/360 users).  However the comic is most likely going to allow PS3 users to choose a lot of the major decisions, I would call who you romance a major decision.

So if there is every chance that if you use the comic book to create a "save" then you will have access to the Liara romance if you so choose..  I would find it very bizarre if they left the Liara romance out of the PS3 version since it is such a major thing on the PC/360.

Yeah, I don't understand where the 'Ash/Kaiden forced down your throat' idea comes from? Other than the obvious fact that if you don't romance Liara in ME it is either Ash/Kaiden (depending on if LI them or if opposite sex to them if no romance/default) that is in the intro bit.

I don't actually consider the romance choice as a 'major decision' and as much as I know a lot of the original LI fanbase would like to think it is, I'm not 100% convinced the devs would either.

That said, to give the PS3 users more parity with the PC/360 people then yeah it would make sense that in the comic the option to become romantically involved with one of them does occur. The thing is am just not sure how they would implement it into the comic other than it being some 'post-virimire' decision (due to obvious reasons).

I think the main reason for my initial thinking about the LI situation is down to the fact default Shep on PC/360 saves the potential LI on Virmire, that to me gave me the impression they might be allowing for an ME2 default Shep import into ME3 to hook up with one of the 2 ME LIs in ME3. But of course PC/360 owners if they wanted could go get ME after playing ME2 and go make a LI Shep import to take through, PS3 owners of course wouldn't get that chance, so the comic could give it.

@charmingcharlie thanks for pointing out the obvious comment about comic being on the network and not on disc. Feel such a fool for posing that question now hehe

As others have said, I think the choices will be minimal in comparison to what PC/360 fans could get from playing ME, it will just be the core choices that could affect the universe (and Shep) that I think will be in the comic because to include all the sidequest choices would just make the comic story too convoluted and bigger than it needs to be.
