I'm not sure if this is the case wit PS3 bonus conent. But if that was it, i'd be angry at Sony/Bioware/EA/whoever made the decission because it feels like they are robbing you. Obviously.
It's just a money thing. Nobody likes when they toy with their money... game or not. If you are in a restaurant, eating your menu and you see that the waitress is giving food for free that you previously paid the least you can do is ask her why.

I chose to buy the DLC because i like their game and i like to support them so they keep on making cool games. But if I knew that other people would be getting this same stuff for free, well what can i say... the internet is full of sites to download this content ilegally.

Good luck fighting piracy with this corporate mentality.

Anyways, If i am mistaken and this is just my wild imagination then I apologize. :)

Pd. Another thing that seems a bit funny is the fact that you release only 1 of 2 games for the PS3. I mean, makes no sense. You know you'll have these problems at some point because the PS3 fan base is missing out a whole game. Sooo if i was Bioware/EA... i'd wait until I could launch both games for the ps3 then none of this nerdrage would happen.

Did you get angry when Oblivion or Morrowind or Call Of Duty all released their game of the year versions aswell?

Face it, PS3 owners need incentive to buy this after waiting so long.
If this is the best they can do, so be it.

Just be happy that you spent your money on a product you enjoyed.

What the hell? Did all logic just fly out the window? Since when did the PS3 users need extra incentives to buy the game? They've been whining for it for years. There is no way a person is going to say, "Well, because it has all the DLC, I'm going to buy it. I would never have bought it without the DLC but this free content seals the deal."

No, that makes no sense.

Who thinks the PS3 version will come with all the DLC for free?

I hope they do. Or at least i hope that's what the bonus content is. PS3 owners will have had to wait a year for the game, so i don't mind if they get a few extras for free, as long as those extras are available to me as a 360 owner too.

I actually have a PS3 and this is kinda cool. I thought it was coming out in a bundle with ME1 and ME3 but to get it early is kinda sweet. Just wish ME1 was coming out with it though. Also i paid for alot of DLC can the PS3 users get them form day one?

Think of how stupid it would sound if the choices in ME 1 didnt affect anything. They would have to make "twists" that would make M. Night jealous.

"Citadel news reports that the rachni on planet xxxxxx died of an apparent rachni flu that swept through the whole hive. No survivors." "The council survived? we have dismissed that claim!" (sorry i had to)

"The Council that you saved is an apparent illusion, with the humans taking over power when sovereign attacked the station. Just no one noticed."

"Kaiden/Ashley didnt actually die with the nuclear bomb, being right next to the device made an apparent "safe zone" and they were unharmed. The rest of the facility was vaporized"

What a Twist!

So yea i wouldnt worry.

And since this game will probably be the "new game price" of like $60, when you can get it for 30 now (on steam anyway) it would make sense to give ps3 useres a little something extra for an older game.

With statements abroad about Mass Effect: Genesis and Mass Effect: 2 concerning the franchise's arrival to the PS3 there is a lot of room for interpretation.

Based off of http://masseffect.bioware.com about halfway down: Coming in January of 2011 in beautiful Blu-ray, Mass Effect 2 PS3 **will feature hours of bonus content making it the perfect >>entry<< point** to the franchise. One could "assume" at this point that because of the inability to "port" the 360 and or PC version of ME1(not an inability concerning story and art which is IP retained by BW and EA, but actual source elements of the software) to PS3 because of legalities, that Bioware may intend on re-creating "CORE" events from ME1 as an addition to ME2 for the PS3.

Like I said there is a lot of room for interpretation, and me just being an average guy I can only "assume" what is meant by the "hours of bonus content making it the perfect ENTRY point to the franchise" statement.

I look forward to snagging ME2/Genesis in January for PS3, and cant wait for ME3 as well. So this announcement is welcome.

As far as content/DLC is concerned that some have gripes about, well think of it as a GOTY edition much like FO3, Oblivion, and well tons of other games out there that have gone this route, which typically all have a load of DLC tied in with the purchase as incentive, afterall ME2 will be nearly a year old upon its PS3 release date.

By the way yes I do own a PS3, I just got it in July, prior to that I was strictly PC and 360, however after 7+ 360 hardware failures since launch I gave up on investing more money in XBOX products. Since then I now own DA:O and DA:O Awakenings for PS3(huge difference in performance and issues with bugs I had with my 360 version), and I own ME1 for the PC.

While I do like that PS3 owners (without a 360 or a decent PC) will get to play ME 2, it is kind of sad that they won't see the sweet Liara from ME1 and be stuck with just the hardened ****-eyed Liara from 2

ok not going sound like fan boy,(but am sure i will some how) i tottaly can see people happy for this coming to the ps3, who would not want the game to come to there console its amazing game....saying that tho i knew moment ea took over bw it would not be same, ea is all about briging same titles year on year out as fast as possible for quick buck, just look at fifa francise they tweek it for few months and bring same stuff out just to say well now you can move 360 degree direction blah why not do that last year tell you why money....

bw telling you, if me3 is nothing more than brilliant from me2 and you move away from decision you make as a gamer affecting your story line because ea just wants quick game out for quick buck, then am not even going bother with game or dragon age 2 as feel you traded bw magic and skill for £££££

thing is its us the gamers that are the power, not some suit guy the thing is you can sell your sole for a buck but wonder what would happen if gamers just went nah lets bring bw or ea down buy not buying any game's they bring out, then what >? stop thinking of your fans as comodaties were a massive power not to recon with....

From another thread:

I don't really care that it was announced for PS3... what I do care about is that we XBOX and PC owners who supported ME from the very start had to pay for all the latest DLC. It would upset me greatly if these DLC items which we paid for are free to PS3 owners, and if PS3 owners got something exclusive to them that we, who have been supporting ME, do not get. I don't care if it's just an extra emblem, but we should get that too.

Furthermore, I'm upset because now we'll have to wait even longer for ME3 to come out. IF this hadn't happened, we would be getting ME3 probably as early as Dec 2011, Jan 2012... but now that they have to wait for PS3 owners to "catch up" and actually spend time developing for yet another platform, this is going to take time away from ME3 and getting ME3 out to 360/PC users.

Like I said, I don't care that it's coming out for the PS3, AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T EFFECT THE 360 VERSION! But it IS going to push back the 360 version, which I hate, because we have already been waiting and supporting ME from the start. They should have focused on releasing ME3 for the 360 first, and then when all was said and done, THEN port ME1-3 to PS3.

VERY disappointed. For shame EA BioWare, for SHAME!

If the case were relative to the present situation, I'd assume the waitress would tell you that the customer had to wait a really long time for their food to arrive, and therefore they're giving the customer some complementary French Fries with their meal because of the long wait.

I don't think that's a good excuse. You make a good point there, anyways. They got the game later, right? It's just normal that they have some bonus content to make up for it. Sounds logical. But this is not my fault and I don't think i should be paying for it. They are missing  a whole game too. Seriously, can't Bioware/EA see this might bring them some extra cash but is not a good idea unless you market both games?

How are they going to make up for a whole missing game with some bonus content?? They will ****** off PS3 people who won't buy the game because is missing the first part and they will ****** off the rest of the fanbase by giving them ps3 people DLC content for free. ( if that's really the case)

Gamers who already played ME1 on the pc or xbox AND own a PS3 will buy this. But seriously, i don't know anyone who owns a ps3, an xbox and pc all together. Not to mention that PS3 games are so expensive.

@TheReelBigFish I usually make fun of people who play console games like COD. I don't play on ps3/xbox. Just ol' PC gaming. I am not getting angry, just dissapointed when they touch money matters since it doesn't grow on trees and I have to earn it.

I don't think it's bioware being greedy about the ps3. Sony is notorious for buying up popular games that were exclusive to a console. Happened with Bioshock, and if you go back far enough, you see they did it with Final Fantasy 7 (it was supposed to be only for the n64 if the rumors are correct)).

Come on, let's be happy for the PS3, it's not like it has any good games to call it's own. And be honest, if sony gave you the amount of money it does when it wants something, you'd do the same thing

Also, in terms of not having ME1... it won't matter.

PS3 owners will get the OPTION of choosing what outcome they had wanted from ME1. They'll be able to choose if either Kaiden/Ashley lives or dies, who they had a romance with, and whether Wrex and the Council lived or died.... GUARANTEED this will happen.

Exactly. Actually, ME2 on PS3 may hope to sell well only if it not only includes all DLC, but has some substantial exclusive content (like Joker missions in Batman). Otherwise noone will buy a year old game.

How is there no logic there?

YOUR thoughts do not speak for all gamers, do not speak for the market.
Just because you think that, does not mean everyone else will. You can't just pull a statement like that and say "THIS IS TRUE, THIS WILL HAPPEN".

There is a reason that companies release game of the year editions, because not everyone is going to buy a game on day 1.

I can use your logic, but reverse it
"Why should I pay full price for this PS3 game  when the same game is on Xbox for only $25"
"What is this?.. it includes hours of bonus content?.. I guess that's why I shall make the purchase on PS3"

Microsoft need to stop being jerks, ME2 is coming to Sony, ME1 sold LESS, and wasn't nearly as epic as ME2, and they are still gonna hold onto it, the fact Sony owners basically get what is the"The Empire Strikes Back" of Mass Effect and not "A New Hope" is dumb, please Bioware, wrangle in ME1 for the Sony crowd as well.

People keep saying this, but why should Microsoft "stop being jerks"? I didn't see Sony in a hurry to give up Final Fantasy, or Grand Theft Auto, and I haven't seen an announcement for Uncharted coming to 360.  Microsoft had to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to secure those names (FF and GTA) and Sony will have to do the same. Not to mention, the Empire Strikes Back-A New Hope isn't really a good analogy. Empire Strikes Back is widely considered the best Star Wars movie, whereas it seems people enjoyed Mass Effect 1 way more than 2.
